Not much visible, just the stuff I talked about in the newspost. I hope to have some visible stuff next week (some requested ship and addon variants, etc).
Would have had some missions, but they weren't quite ready yet. I expect those'll be ready next week as well.
Have a good weekend, all.

New ships variants!? New addons variants!? Any hints?
I don't want to raise hopes too much in advance. I have a bunch of notes for variants/addons to take a look at, but this all hinges on the new "dynamic object data" stuff actually working.. and a lot of that is still untested.
The main point is, I'll be trying to get more visible content changes ready for the next release.

I'm not sure if it happened in this update or the last, but it seems that Voice Chat is now working- somewhat -on my Win98 box. In today's Convoy event, I was able to clearly hear the other group members chatting away. I couldn't find my microphone listed, but just having the listen functionality is a huge step up.
And in things that are likely directly related to this patch, I noticed that the Escort mission bots seem to be behaving better- the Warthog/Centurion fighters were sticking with the Centaur/Behemoth ships much more often, not falling behind or racing ahead like they did before the patch. It was quite helpful in ion storms, though they somehow managed to find a way to jump out of one at a spot nowhere near the indicated jump point.

Well.. that's good. Although I have no idea why either of those things were affected.
it's windows 98 clawing at its last hope of being useful by randomly allowing things it would normally deny!
But is it actually new stuff? Or just like balancing? (Both of which are welcome, just curious!)
I'm going to try to actually make some new stuff, that has been requested for ages. I haven't been able to put anything new into the economy for some months, but that should be possible now (again, somewhat untested).
But, I don't want to overly raise expectations and then have some issue prevent things, so let's leave it that I'm going to aim for new stuff this coming week.

would any of these new items be ion cannons or plasma cannons that dont suck in pvp?
Looking at a number of possibilities, and not going to promise specifics as of yet. Still waiting for Ray to make the whole interface side of things work properly (all the server-side stuff was released, but there's still some tweaking and testing to do on the tool-side, where I interact with a web applet to actually add/change stuff in the game).
This actually has a lot of exciting ramifications, once it's working, beyond the obvious "making more stuff" usage. Just testing and tuning will be.. vastly improved. So, for instance, I can try tinkering with capship engines to find a balance that makes the cappies less.. uhh.. dumb. Prototyping that kind of thing before had such delays in the feedback process that it took forever (and required other people working with me, and so on).

Yay functional Raptor on the way :)
Just kidding all looks really promising Inc. good luck.
