Aye, so it's a datarate issue, not particularly a graphics issue. Gotcha. I remember playing Warbirds and we'd have about seventy people over a particularly hotly contested airfield, and yeah, there'd be a slowdown. Never really understood why - I knew my computer had the grits to handle that and way more. The bombers loved it, meant the furballers were playing the slideshow game, and were less likely to care about a few errant B-24s nailing the base.

I really like what you guys have done with the skirmish. The only real complaint I could come up with is that it always feels like the capships are driven by fighter jocks that don't understand why they're not being forced into their seats by bone-shattering acceleration. I figure that's an AI issue, and it works well enough now that a whole new AI behavior system based on capital ships would be(if not a waste) time better spent elsewhere.

Very interesting info, thanks Incarnate.

The Border Skirmishes do look good, even though there're performance glitches at times (normally in my case, it's just ships disappearing when they die, rather than exploding).

The other side of the coin, command and control with nested group structures, has been discussed on the forums here before, so I guess there are plans in the works for that.
