I had played the game for about 8 hours straight or something (not sure) and it told me that I was playing a Trial Version. I asked the 100 channel, and they told me that you had to pay $10 monthly to keep playing the game.
Unfortunately, I refuse to play all games requiring a monthly fee. Thus, I hereby resign from this game and cannot recommend it to any of my other friends.
Hopefully this game goes far, I loved every second of it,

May II ask, why you don't play games that require a monthly fee?
Heh, interesting attitude.
I'd understand if you didn't think it's worth it but just refusing to play all games with monthly fee is... odd.

I never live in a house where I have to pay rent.
Interesting attitude? He's just a pompous ass IMO...
Im sure his input will be sadly missed. NOT!
I am going to say this person is under 18 therefore no credit card or anything, try buying Visa gift cards at gas stations if you are really interested.
"I didn't read anything about this game before I downloaded it and began playing. I asked on 100 and selected the highest possible monthly payment plan mentioned. Unfortunately, I don't want to support things that I profess to love. I won't be back, and I can't recommend the game to my other friends for reasons that are unstated, but may range from having friends who are also unwilling to support things they enjoy - to simply not having friends. Hopefully this game will go far despite my unwillingness to help support it financially or by word of mouth. I had no information or suggestions to offer, although I may be implying that the game is great except for that annoying desire to generate enough funds to support itself."
Bwahahah
thanks whistler now i have to get some paper towel to clean my screen XD

Whistler - you should pin, sticky & lock that statement in its own thread.
It's the fact of paying over $100 for a single game that upsets me. Playing this game for 10 months = $100. Playing almost any game without a monthly fee requires less than $50. Excessive amounts of money are not to be rewarded to any one game, IMO... no matter how good it is.
Would you really give up a month of food for a game?
Would you really give up a month of food for a game?
I would
You could also play for a month and only pay $10.
Meh ..do what you want. People here probably just got ticked off cause you seemed to be trying to make a statement out of not paying.
There are probably dozens each month who make the same decision without making any noise about it. It's not like it will change anything anyway.

Actually, it's $90 for 12 months if you buy the 12 months at once.
spuck, hopefully people making the same decision will drive guild software out of business. That way, the next company that decides to make a sweet mmorpg makes the right choice and supports the contiguous costs of keeping the game running and improving through magic instead of subscriptions. After all, the reward of my enjoying the game should be enough to keep anyone running, right?
oh crap! I hope that didn't come across wrong.
I meant loudly proclaiming "Paying for stuff sucks!" won't make guild drop the fee. People not deciding to play and pay is of course kinda bad.

If your having to make this choice, you probably shouldn't be wasting your time playing games...
EDIT: Where do shop for groceries, by the way? $100 of food only lasts me a few days.

I agree with spuck.
You seem to be making this statement to change things. Which is not going to happen, please, do not let the door hit you where the good lord slit you on yer way out.

SinisteRing, I'd love you to stick around a bit longer. Please ignore and do not respond to the trolls.
This is actually a legitimate problem with MMORPG's. There are several that rely on first-go sales alone (Guildwars, I believe) but mostly they are all pay-per-month. Why? In the most common cases, they cite server maintenance, the constant need for moderators, and more importantly, the fact that they are constantly updating the game.
These arguments are also valid. It really does bite to pay $100 for one game, but it also sucks for the company to be paying money monthly to keep things going. Unless they stop the game from being hosted on their servers, they are basically going to have to accept that they are going to be losing money. The servers are important. Most games rely on the ease of which one can log on and talk to hundreds of players. Part of your money goes to the maintenance of that capability.
Paying $10 a month for that service isn't so bad. People pay more for RL memberships. The gym, pool, ect. But what that money is needed for doesn't end there. It is needed because the developers are constantly working on the game. It's not like they just pop in to maintain the servers, and then go out to hit the bars. No, they are working to further the experience and possibilities of the game.
This game, Vendetta Online, currently has 4 people working hard on it. They charge $10 a month and cheaper if you buy it in bulk. They're working on a plethora of features daily, and are working hard to implement them as often as possible. With four people, they add an amazing amount of features. Last year was slow, as was the year before it. This year they've accomplished an astonishing amount of stuff, and they promise that there is more to come. This is with four people.
Other games charge more, and still deliver less good service, and more inconsistent work. They've proven their worth over the years (yes, years. This game has been self-produced by these people over six years, without the benefits of having any kind of major finacial backing) and that's why I'm here to stay, along with my 2 accounts.
If you really think it's too much to pay 100 dollars for the game, then don't. However, I'd advise you to spend as much money as you think is reasonable on this game. You enjoyed it? Don't think it's worth spending $100 on? Fair enough. Just spend fifty dollars on it, and enjoy it while it lasts. You'll only play regular games for five months or so anyway.
