So, What has changed?

May 12, 2008 Spider link
okay, I just got back ingame and started out on the discovery process once again, I'm seeing a fair bit of new stuff (Missions, a couple of ships) but what gets to me most are the small changes that I seem to have missed.

For example

The little wraith I used as a practice ship is no more unless you're aligned with Axia.
My beloved Neut III are suddenly available anywhere when you win?

So. What are the minor changes you've remembered over the last year? What hints can you give?

Flares got microed. Sunflares ued to have 16 per tube, now they have 12. Similar reductions have been done to Iceflares and Starflares.

Many fighters that used to be able to infiniboost no longer can. The EC-107 is the only one to my knowledge.

Vote mutes and guild joins can only happen from paid accounts now.

I noticed the Flares. the trigger happened while I was last playing, but still bugs me a tad.

Some "fighters" like the corvus Marauder seem to still have Infiniboost, but that might just be because I have a stash of ancient ships lying around the universe.

The new corv maud is more like a valk in turbo capability, 225ms boost with 55 drain.

Oh yeah, I still suck! Some things never change ;)

Addition of Law Enforcement Neutron Blasters, a slightly better version of the n3.

Also, the tweak on starflares actually made them a viable option with their smaller mass and greater ammo. Main drawback is lesser velocity.

Don't remember if you were still here for this or not, but killing 10 queens gets you access to a mega positron blaster. A pretty decent L port weapon.

Check out Border Skirmish in Deneb/GR. They can be fun if you get enough players up there.

Great input so far!

Shields, how do you practically deal with them?

Missiles, in general. A few rags fully laden with swarms and rockets can take down shields. Avalons would be even better, if we had any.

Strikeforces!
Seem to have changed behaviour a fair bit, Why can't I get itani SF to follow me into Serco space anymore? ;)

oh right! there's now a delay between them respawning and the second batch will be larger, they are slightly less dumb about mines and they also drop guns that some people like!
