Sector 9
Ok, I just got back into Vendetta after a lot of boredom. I stopped playing during the beta. The main thing I remembered from the alpha stage was the large sector 9 wars.
I know about the border skirmish and stuff, but I don't find that as fun as 50 real players fighting each other in one area. Laying mines everywhere, nuking the station, the devs having a swordfight. They were all nice memories.
So, I'm wondering, are there still large pvp wars? If so, what sector? My bus and I want to have fun. =)

Sedina B-8 and Latos H-2 are the primary PVP sectors, however a large number of Itani and Serco pilots will frequently congregate during Border Skirmishes and Border Battles.
At 20:00 GMT on Wednesdays and Sundays every week, there is the Nation War, which is a last-man-standing event based on teams rather than individual players. Check the RP forum for locations and more details.

Kanaka covered most of it:
There's also usually a large-scale pirate presence in several locations, namely operating out of Sedina, that you can hit.
BB/BS/BP operations usually get a fair few pilots (as Kanaka mentioned) and the NW's frequently draw approx 20 pilots to war, and in some cases last for an hour or so, depending on pilot skill.
One thing Kanaka didn't mention, is Capture-the-Cargo. This isn't a major player draw, but if you get on at the right time, it can lead so some interesting PVP action between Itanis-Serco.

Someone from the sector 9 era will find CtC a pile of testicals.
They are better off in Sedina, Latos or Border Skirmish for excitement

Crazy, aren't all 3 of us (save: MSKanaka) from the 9 era?
MSKanaka is too, I believe.
She is. I am too, actually :P
yes, so we all hate ctc and are in agreement then!
CtC is fun, but it ain't Sector 9
Thanks for the tips guys.
I did try the nation war. I didn't like how short it was, since it was a 1 death you're out war. I will try to find CTC, but your comments make me think not to. A video I saw didn't seem to exciting either.
Really, the wars now just aren't like the sector 9 wars. As I said, the nation war wasn't as good for me since it was too short. Border skirmishes don't seem like they draw a lot of players(I was the only human player there for most of the ones I was in). It could be the fact I was playing on the weekdays...
The main thing that I loved about the sector 9 wars was the fact that everyone was just there to have fun. The devs pulled out two frigates and had a sword fight. Some people just used physics mode to make lines of stationary nukes. It was all just having fun, not much competition.
The only thing that wasn't very fun was station nuking...
I'll try Border Skirmishes in the weekend. If not, then I'll just try to find other ways to have fun. Bot hunting is always nice...
Are there regular bus wars? Those are always fun.

No, CtC is only exciting when you get the whole playerbase to participate. I still hope to see a CtF equivalent some day.
The fact the you're fighting over a weapon that people can stockpile or pick-up from NPC's sucks. Maybe if there was more at stake...
CtF had no incentive at all besides boasting privileges. It was probably most often the feeling of accomplishment and the working together as a team that made flag captures happen (I found it difficult to coordinate with others during CtC, but that might also be due to the different nature of the event and of the universe).
I would return to the game if CTF was put back in...
I realize that's probably a good reason not to.

I promise to leave forever if tumblemonster and Dr. Lecter both come back! That's reason enough for the community to get behind these two stellar players!
CTF was mint, but now that we are all talking about how awesome it is some super dork is bound to come in and go "guh...can't go backwards guys, fun was in the past, lets all play tedious killbot mission 4 instead cause it is more mmo like" Just like every time a large group of us talk about how mint the old days were
Well, I can't speak to the old days, cos I wasn't here (though how I wish I'd found it sooner...), but lately there've been a number of pretty good all-out furballs in Sedina B-8 and Edras I-2. The former have mostly been pirates against others, and the latter mostly Serco against Itani (CtC fueled), but anyone is free to join in on any side, pretty much. And the more the merrier. Usually it's only been 8 or 10 people total, but they're still a ton of fun and tend to suck others in. Though they also tend to lose people if one side gets too strong (it's not all that fun to be repeatedly ganked 5v1). In general, if you want a big furball, on a given evening (CST) there are probably similarly-minded folks around, just waiting for the chance.
