Why not make some nebulae closer to the center, and have it 'jam' HUD, so it will be interesting to dogfight, there will be no auto targeting...

He's wanting to be able to fly into a nebula. Then the nebula would jam radar, auto-aim, and whatever else. he's operating under the belief that the nebulae are actually foggy 3D objects.
