Next Version?
It seems to me like 3.2 just came out, but as I look at my Updater screen, I see that it is 3.2.9. Yikes! Now, the 3.1.x series lasted past 3.1.15, and I'm sure the 3.2 series will too, but in 3.1.9 we KNEW what 3.2 would bring, or at least some of it. So devs, how about some news about the next major version? What can we expect when, 7 or 8 releases down the road, 3.3 comes out?
/me crosses fingers that new sectors will be added.
/me crosses fingers that all engines will be balanced.
/me crosses fingers that all weapons and ships will be balanced.
/me crosses fingers that the ship models will be updated with more polys.
/me drools.

Wow... I must be an optimist :-)
/me crosses fingers that all of the things arolte crosses fingers for happen within future versions of 3.2
/me crosses fingers that 3.3 brings new ship and weapon arsenals just like 3.2.0 did (small mines!)
/me crosses fingers that 3.3 introduces a rudimentary "reputation system" so we can start experimenting with how our actions effect game play
/me crosses fingers that 3.3 introduces wormhole-capable bots/frigates so we can chase (or be chased by) frigates around the universe
/me crosses fingers that 3.3 evolves the trading system to include supply/demand price structures and more use of black-market and grey-market economics
/me crosses fingers that 3.3 introduces some form of "missions"...even if it's just simple missions to start.
/me also drools

/me thinks 3.2 will last at least until 3.2.30 ;)
Jeez Arolte, there's not enough polys already? This game has more polys in 1/1 with everything maxed out on my comp than several of my other most technically advanced games combined! Did you get a new Radeon 9800 or summin?
no a new G5 :P
first of all, that question was not to you, it was to Arolte, second of all, the question was about the video card, not the PC.
Uhh... the game has LOD bias. The poly count reduces as you go farther away from an object, depending on your settings. If you're having FPS issues, reduce your distance level of detail under the graphics menu.
And yes, eventually non-special ships will be remodeled to match the level of detail found in the current line of special ships. Heck, they might just dump the current line of non-specials and make completely new designs with better detail. A lot of the models used now in Vendetta are pretty old. They're bound to change sooner or later.
/me hopes a twin engine Hornet is in the works.

me will go completely insane (even moreso then now) is they mess with the vulture model
All of the non special ships (dev\bot only counts as special in my eyes) are over a year old.
Personally i think the vulture needs to be messed with, it needs more detail on it to make it look more kick ass. =)

Yeah I was hoping the ships wouldn't change too much in terms of appearance. They can look more detailed without losing their overall appearance (i.e. less boxy design, visible weapons, texturing, etc.).
For instance, look at the vulture, then the valkyrie, the valkyrie has very fine detail, the vulture doesn't.
Also, some of the ships look bloated, like a balloon. Ragnarok comes to mind.
Also, the bus is a year old, as it use to be red's ship, the prometheus is much newer then the vulture.

I want a new atlas model, the old one is junky. I've wanted this since 3.1.x, when it was the Blue Transport (Med).
The Atlas is my junky model and texture. I need to update it one of these days. It's several years old.
/me thinks a red atlas kinda resembles a space ambulance.
Bee Boo Bee Boo Bee Boo Bee Boo Bee Boo
Can we have another junky looking ship too look at?
