swarms
I was wondering if the devs have adjusted the statistics of the swarms, so if they altered anything on them?
Because I aint able to dodge them anymore :(
Maybe made them more agile or bigger proximity range ?
I dont know, but I noticed it :(
cheers

Homers seem smarter... they seem to be plotting more of an intercept course this time...
yeah, but they are still dodgeable, at least I was able to dodge the stingrays :D
But the swarms, are when you dont use the boost very difficult not to say impossible to dodge :(
cheers

Woah. If thats true, they did change 'em. I used to dodge swarms all day without boosting. That was what made them so useless. Even a capper could get away from them.
Yeah, they're a lot harder without boost. I think the proxy range is up, because my old spin tactic to evade them left the swarms missing me... but they exploded and damaged me anyhow.
yeah I came to exactly the same conclusion rogue, I thought I was the only one ;)

swarms have a small prox, like 5m or 10m.
So blaster , you can still avoid them without boosting ?

very hard but not impossible. my habit of running into roids while back strafing is helping me a bit.
We didn't intentionally change them, as far as I'm aware. But, we may have made some other change that affected how they behave. We'll have to look at what all we did.
that would be nice,
if people land a swarm on a capper, he is toast :(
and you used tio be able to dodge it, with as consequence that you were distracted and could be taken out more easilly :D
now it is just an instant killingweapon :(
cheers

I agree that if the capper gets taken out by swarms this is a bad thing. On the upside swarms are a pretty cool tactical deterant, aimed at tri S/F valk jockeys they are great =D
I think most missiles in the game are basically deterants, they are of limited use unless someone *really* wants to take you out (up close).
During part of the capping of red that went on earlier I tried out a swarm+tach warthog. The swarms probably accounted for .01% of deaths but made people manouver, get out of my way and end up in the wrong place >:)
Which was nice...

Swarms are not impossible to dodge in a turboless state
its beyond me how its done but i've seen a pilot or two dodge
8+ launches all let off within 100 - 300 metres whilst they carried the flag
(not to mention incoming rokkets / energy weapons and other seeking/homing weaponry)
without a single hit achieved - often in clear space - ie no roids to use as cover.
hats off to the few that can - they are valuable pilots

Hmmm... And this was in post-3.2? I should go practice shooting swarms at myself and figure out how it's done...
roguelazer, I have been trying to do that, I failed :(
