Concussion Railgun?
Okay, for some time now, there's been an item called "Concussion Railgun" in the large addons shop at almost every system I've been to. It supposedly deals 2000 damage with a velocity of 200 m/s. What's more, it says that it takes no energy to fire, and there's no mention of ammo. However, like all of the good stuff, it can only be used by 'specially sanctioned personnel.' I looked the weapon up on the wiki and got squat, so I'm wondering: is this a real weapon that only the truly elite have access to or is someone just taunting me every time I dock? Anyone who can shed some light on this or knows more about it than I do, please respond!

It's something the developers were playing around with; it was planned to be unlockable via a mission that ended up being rather buggy.
So, you can't get it atm, sadly.

its coming soon™
If any PCC members *have* actually heard of it, let me remind that your probably obligated not to release information about it. (But feel free to private message me the details in game, heh heh...)
Actually, it does 1400 damage with a velocity of 400m/s, uses no energy, but has 10 ammo, has a delay of 2 seconds, weighs 4000kg, and uses 12 grid power. It's a tad underpowered, IMO.
The stats on the Concussion Railgun are publicly available ingame by clicking once on the item and using your eyes to read the text that appears on the right side, so the restriction on PCC members shouldn't apply.

This could be truthfully applied to almost everything in the game, SCP, AGT, and suns/jacks aside.

The ammo/weight to damage ratio isn't really up to par, compared to the other rails.
everything is too powerful, nerf it all! especially the gov gun, damn thing is too awesome.
Yeah, way to directly ignore my subtle message there Omega.
You also pointed out that as a PCC member you have special privileges that others do not. And you pointed out what they are; access to secret items. And you honestly can't see how this might have an effect on potential membership in the future? What did you write on that question about being responsible again? That one that mentions prudence where unreleased information on the test server is concerned?
Miharu, thankyou for pointing out the obvious. Of course, you skipped right over the truth as usual... the ammo is certainly a relevant stat and is not displayable. "and there's no mention of ammo." Neither is the most important statistic of all... its size.
The Concussion Railgun is a glorious weapon because of the bullet radius. It's the size of a gauss blast. That's right! Bigger weapons are easier to hit with. What a concept.
What it lacks in damage/weight ratio it obviously makes up for in damage/energy ratio.

The only times I have used them is when a developer dropped them, NOT by getting them because I am a member of the PCC. Because I got them on the production server, it was pretty easy for me to test them against real players as well.
Way to start a flame war.

Indeed. Can we lighten up in here, please?

Apparently we can't lighten up. The original question has been answered, so here come da lock!
