Welcome back, incarnate.

I have a feeling that Inc's one of those guys who, if we took away his "internets" for a month, he just might have a panic attack.
Stop posting here and enjoy Florida!

Anyone would have a panic attack without ze internetz. I know i would. How else would I communicate and get news from the world in general?? Fox news?? I dont think so.

Shadoen: Faux News, on the other hand... :P

Actually, I'm just fine without the internet. It would have induced a panic attack like.. 10 years ago. But now I'm perfectly happy being disconnected. My only source of anxiety is wondering how the company is doing and such. Thus far, though, things seem to be moving along just fine. So, maybe I'll go for a bike ride or something. It's gorgeous here.

Bike ride? You should clearly be developing a single player version of Vendetta Online right NOW!!

Did you know that 76% of online teens say they would miss the Internet if they could no longer go online?

http://www.pewinternet.org/pdfs/PIP_Teens_Report.pdf

Umm wtf? That means 24% of 12-17 year olds who have already been exposed to the internet wouldn't care if it went away? I find that very hard to believe...

MSK.. you mean, as opposed to Communist News Network? I'd much rather watch Fox, than watch a bunch liberal weenies who wet their pants every time Hillary decides to grace them with an interview.

/me gets ER a tequila for that comment.

Glad ta hear you're ENJOYing your time off, Inc, and not WORRYING about stuff up here in Milwaukee. Andy and Ray are recovering from the electrical fire and subsequent computer failures quite nicely, and I've taken over programming in their absence, along with some guys from the janitorial team. Michael ran off with some exotic dancer and we haven't seen him in weeks.

The longest Ive spent with no internetz was 1 week. That was in Bolivia, in a village on the Andean plateu. No electricty whatsoever and there was only 1 telephone on the whole village. It was the year 2004, from december 25 to december 31. I remember when I came back to the city and read the newspapers saying "OVER 230,000 DEAD!!"
I was like WTF?? Nuclear holocaust? OH SHI-!!
It was really weird to come back and find out that during the short time I was gone more than 230,000 people had died.

Btw, Im talking about the Tsunami.

I had the exact same experience, except island, not mountains, Shadoen. It was weird indeed. I had heard rumors from some of the fisherman that had radios, and when we started to paddle back for the week we got the news over the VHF. It was a quiet paddle that day.

Happier things! Inc I live in FL if you need a couch if your not back yet, but i'm probably on the opposite end of the deceptively large state.

In Rexburg, Idaho, having internet access is like not having internet access. Hence one reason I don't play VO anymore, for now.

Heh, yeah. there's lots of snow here. Incarnate picked a good time to be in a warmer climate.

Yah. Agreed. More snow on Thursday! Is it Spring yet?

No Leber, supposedly that Pennsylvanian rodent saw his shadow. Winter's extra long this year!

Snow? Please.. We havent seen that here since '97

oh.. I take that back.. we had a few flakes back a few years ago..
2003 or 2004...
lasted about 15minutes, and melted soon as it hit the ground.. the only clue it was snow was the fact that the "raindrops" were floating down instead of just falling. My wife managed to snap a digital pic of a single flake.. blurry as hell, but its there..

The snow actually "stuck" back in 97. it snowed from mid afternoon, to well into the early morning.. Pileups galore on the interstate.. mostly because a few people were panicked and driving about 30mph. When we woke up in the morning, schools were closed, most govt offices as well. We had about 4inches.

by 10am, it was gone

-- Now.. before all the snowbirds try to give me hell for it. survive my August's, with 100% humidity, and temps in the high90Fs to low 100Fs. Hell, if temps hit 90F in NYC, people pass out in the streets. rofl

Around these parts, we wouldn't notice 4 inches of snow.
Seriously.

I'm in the northern part of Sweden, btw.

børk børk!
Feb 14, 2008 incarnate link
We don't really notice 4 inches either. But 10 inches in an hour, or whatever it was last week when my flight was canceled.. that can be a little exciting for the airport snow-removal teams.

Anyway, being in 80 degree Florida when it was -10F here was not such a bad thing. But, I'm back now, I got back yesterday. Woo!
