New Content Discussions are what the Suggestions Forum Is For
One was enough, then another thread appeared, now I'm moving both to the Suggestions forum. I'm aware they were probably posted here to get additional attention, but I'd prefer people posted future gameplay discussion stuff to.. Suggestions. I mean, that is why it's there.
I also want to say one more thing about the various worries over content creation and so forth.
I have been acutely aware for some time, that our game is in serious need of a Middle and an Endgame. Right now, we really just have the beginning, the Early bit where you get in a spaceship and fly around and shoot at a few things. It has been my plan, for some time now, to move us towards the creation of this Middle and Endgame, with all the many game mechanics that will be required to make it work, towards what the game was really meant to be from the beginning.
This is also the point of the wiki-website ("Trac") where I'm trying to get this all clearly written out and defined, so I can make it public and then say "read this" to all those who wonder where the hell we're going. The problem is, I spend a tremendous amount of time Doing rather than Designing.. we're a tiny company, and I don't have the luxury of dropping my day-to-day to go focus exclusively on the future for a few months. So, I don't have it done, which is one of the major reasons why it isn't all public. I keep adding to it, and there's quite a bit there, but it is poorly organized and sometimes a bit unclear, so I would prefer to get it to a mildly "complete" state before making it public (and having to spend time replying to confusion controversies on here, or whatever). Making it public will also hopefully be a useful PR thing for us, garnering some attention from the outside world, so all the more reason for it to be.. not a mess, which it is right now.
So anyway, I'm trying to get this done as quickly as I can. I wanted it to be released before the end of this year, but that looks kind of impossible now. I'm kind of under the gun to get a big chunk of it ready before late January, for our own development use. At the same time, I'm trying to also make these missions work and other "right now" content, since everyone else is busy writing the code that will be necessary to actually.. push the game forward, and no one else is adding new stuff to the game (and when we go too long without adding New Stuff, people get antsy).
So if I don't make a lot of big posts saying how, yes, NPC pirates will come back, or yes, the economy is unbalanced and we want to fix it, or yes, we need Big Real Gameplay with an actual Point.. like actual Nation-v-Nation and Corp-v-Corp wars and such that have real ramifications.. well, it's because I'm spending my time trying to design/write how that stuff is actually going to *work*, with the hopes of you all being able to read it sooner, rather than later. Some may note that I've said this kind of thing before.. but the best I can say is: one does what one can.

i want a guild bank... oh... wait... i want a trac!
seriously... though... whose worried? most vets know about this already. i suppose it's our job to let new ones know. as friendlily as possible (although it's sometimes hard to keep the trolls and trashmouths out of it).

Sorry - I would have moved the threads, but my DSL has been an unreliable mess since a rain storm a few days ago. I'm back up and running as of this afternoon.
Not at all.. I assumed you were letting it be, for attention, before moving it later. When the second thread appeared, I figured I would move them and reply generally. Glad to hear your internet's back.
