Printables?

I was wondering if there's any kind of printables for this game. The in-game galaxy map, a poster or maybe a page or two of game art/concept art.

Use a program like 'filejuicer' to open up the graphics in 'media.rlb'. It contains what you seek.

Any similar programs for Windows? I'm searching on softpedia but can't find much..

Ok, I searched like a maniac on the net :P I found something called Wavefront, but it had apparently changed name. Couldn't find the new website so I had to google some more. Turns out they were now called Autodesk. Had to do with 3d/2d imaging, that's gotta be it, right? Googled some and found an Autodesk DWF Viewer, that apparently should be able to view .rlb files, according to some forum post somewhere. Turned out the program didn't know what an .rlb file was.

Boooohhhhhhh! :(

googling turned up this:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Programming/File-Editors/Dragon-UnPACKer.shtml
didn't try it though.

there's also this:
http://hachoir.org/

but it will probably be pretty painful to get going on windows.

another one:
http://download.soft-435-49766.butterflydownload.com/multiextractor/

dunno if the images hat are shipped with the game will be useful for what you want anyway .. they are pretty low res

Tried the Dragon UnPACKer.. It didn't recognize the file either so I'll stop trying about that media.rlb.

When Vendetta-Online was released in stores in North America, it included a poster of a map of the universe. I guess Guild Software wouldn't be too happy about someone asking to scan it and upload the file(s) somewhere on the internet? Not that I'm asking... I'm asking if it would be appropriate to ask. *rolleyes*

*EDIT: Hey, the MultiExtractor actually worked! But just as you said, didn't contain much that I was looking for. Most of it was low-res too :/

Dragon UnPACK should work, cos it can search any file for media files, but isn't all this talk about extracting the games files kind of a EULA breach?
Dec 02, 2007 Raylan link
W00T, EULA breach? If it is, then I'm sorry. But wait, it can't be illegal looking at a file that is on my computer?

Only if they find out!

I'm pretty sure that covers media.rlb, else why would they compress it into one file? I'm more shocked at RelayeR suggesting you do this though :)

I thought game files were stuffed into one cause they got into the game that way... Haha, I don't know really. Don't know much about that stuff.

If anyone's interested, I made this universe-map that you can print. It's an A4 in 150dpi, so it's well enough to get good quality.

You can download it here: http://img253.imageshack.us/my.php?image=universemapgu6.jpg

I can see about putting the original poster online in some form. Maybe PDF would be easiest for people?

That'd be super! :) Maybe under "About Vendetta > Vendetta Universe > The Universe"?

/me has dreams at night where he can freely edit the textures in media.rlb

*sigh*

I would not edit the file in media.rlb. You may break something. I see no problem in using the graphics in that file for other things non-commercial. If I'm wrong, John, please tell me.

if i break something then i just reinstall but there aint any way to put the edited png files back in the .rlb file :(

ooo neat, found some weird goodies:

Bring back Capture the Flag!!

I don't know what this is but I wish to own one:

Ships as cargo anyone?

I wish to own these too:

Bring back displayshippos!

The second item was the flag that was to be captured. The third item ("ships as cargo") looks to be a rocket powerup.

A while back I made a clean SVG map of the galaxy, which is here:

http://www.glendale.org.uk/~sam/vendetta/vendetta-map.svg

It's not pretty, but it should scale well.
