Hi

Yes, I have competed that "Search and Rescue" mission, and subsequent related ones too. They do credit some faction, but do not nearly as much as you lose if you fail in the first one.

I do not want to give away spoiler, so JB ask me in-game. Suffice it to say: if you find what you're looking for in a roid formation but that sector has a lot of harder bots, come well armed and good luck keeping it alive long enough. Otherwise you get f*cked. On my second try I was well armed and much luckier, only easy bots, no threat.

Eep, sorry about that Foo Fighter. I guess I should have added a disclaimer 'playing this tree will mess with your Itani standing.' You only get the hit in the first mission if the trader dies before making it back, but not if you abort or run out of time.

yeah no worries, I'll just grind it back to POS
The issue is not with the mission, your mission is good.
The issue is with the asymmetric and buggy handling of itani faction and POS standing. Without giving away spoilers, If a POS itani loses -20 faction, and then earns +200 faction, he is still way way down on where he stated (+1000). The loss is a big hit, and the gains are log-scale nerfed to be quite small gains.

I am unable to duplicate the problem of rockets hitting yourself.
What rocket launcher(s) and exact ship and layout did this happen with?
Oct 17, 2007 Ghost link
It happened to me in a corvus maud with tri-sunflares. The rockets don't hit me, but give me a bit of damage upon firing, as if I were taking damage from their exhaust.

Corvus maud with sunflares does damage when you fire. Hog 2 with jacks does damage when you turbo and fire.

Hmm. I wasn't able to damage myself with rockets but when I fired them, my ship got pushed a little bit due to the physical contact (which is new). I fixed that problem.

So firing rockets has a 'kickback' effect now, Ray?

If so, cool.
Oct 18, 2007 Impavid link
Yeah, I noticed that push thing too. Weird you couldn't reproduce it though, it happens every single time with the setups I mentioned.

It's not "kickback" or any kind of recoil. It's the rocket actually running into your ship as it emerges from its "launcher", which is an invisible point of space somewhere inside or near the ship.

Well, whatever it is, it needs to be fixed, cos if it was a feature, i'd love it, cos then i would know how to avoid it, but its not, tonite I managed to burn myself from 100% to like 35%, while going backwards (how random!) in a fight, now thats a LOT of HP, considering I can slam myself into a roid, or a station at 100% health @ 200m/s and take only a 10% hit.

This is kind of a game breaker for me, cos I am scared to fire jackhammers while going forwards, fine, I could live with that, but while going backwards too? Sorry to rant, but being damaged by myself IS more important to at least me...

Well, we are planning to fix it tonight. And we're still on for guild banks. [And the 4.2 billion credit cap has been lifted]

in a marauder with a flare in my rear/ center port i managed to reproduce the burn bug but not in flight only at launch. got recoil and when at lower health had damage inflicted
