Yeah, I was going to ask Ray about making the sphere primitive a little higher poly, or making a different one. That explosion primitive has been the same since like.. '99 or something, I think.

You know, i like the bubbles. and plasma CAN come in all different colors... take fire, for example. probably the most common existence of plasma!

Wow, take your eyes off of the message boards for a bit and the thread goes wild.

Anyways, the current explosion effect, the spread fx, missile fx, and trail fx in the current version(1.7.45) looks quite fine. These are good.

Anyways, to those that think this is supposed to be an offensive, mean thread: It's not. I'd list this under lame comedy. However the, "proud to be a part of," line is an actuality - I just mixed it in with the sarcasm on a whim.

To the developers: You guys are doing a great job considering the limited resources you have. Please continue to put effort into this game as it's enjoyed by many players including me.

kilconie, fire is not plasma, its a chemical change/reaction. It aint a state of matter or such.

Physhi: I think your original post was a great idea. I'm getting started on an Atari 2600 port right now.

I'd say they are doing a great job *regardless* of the resources at their disposal. I'd consider an identical VO in a world where Guild had 50 employees and ten times the economical resources a game worth playing, and a success.

Serious, a1k0n? I want to get my hands on that, actually. Post a ROM link on the forums when you get done with it. ;)

It would be fun to play on my old Apple IIc, if I still had my Apple IIc....

Oh, and if it will run on an Amiga A500 even better :-)
Apart from restoring that classic, I also have an Amiga A1200 with accelerator card, the 68020 clocking at 28MHz and with a whole 8Mb (oh yeah, totally overspecced) of RAM, runs at about 4x the stock A1200 and about 8x the A500. And it's got an ethernet card with UDP and TCP/IP. That should handle VO Classic Edition no probs.

While you all have been talking about possibly porting sometime in the future VO to classic platforms, I have been hard at work.

I have successfully ported Vendetta Online to lines drawn in the sand! I get about a frame a minute, too, if I draw really fast. If I had a website I'd make it available for download.
