Has anyone ever tried the following:

-Taken a piece of cargo, some swarms, and shoot the swarms while aiming at the cargo.

Because I found it produces some... interesting effects. Like if you do it in open space the swarms fly past the cargo, loop around and make a ring. When firing by a station, the swarms spread out.

Just thought it was interesting that's all. Will post some pictures later.

Yup, spidey and I did this a lot when the graphic-intensive swarm trails (not the current ones) were first introduced.

yea he older trails looked cooler but they DESTROYED frame rates, i could easily by my self drop my frame rate down to .1 fps two spamrags would go down to .02 or so, completley unplayable. the new ones i can handle one spamrag, two's kinda pushing it.

I want the old trails back as an option... my computer can handle it, and I don't want my graphics going to waste with crappy trails.

I personally had no problems with the trails but i know other have and still have problems with them :(

You mean you want to see the old trails while others see the new trails? sounds complicated to me. But it in the suggestions forum , i doubt it will go anywhere though

Would've liked to use the old trails although I can still //try// to do some like spideys. Emphasis on the try.

i think the devs should make the old swarms available on the test server because the old trails were much much nicer but they put way to many particles on your screen

there is just one thing i hate about the new rails there just too transparent and not bright enought

Old. original method was shooting them at yourself.
