I just wanted to say first of all, Well Done to you chaps at Guild Software. It has been quite a while since I checked out Vendetta Online, (about 4 or 5 years going by my profile) and it is great to see how much it has come on.

Well Done for keeping motivated all this time and especially for all the hard work gone into making this a really fun experience.

Secondly, I wanted to thankyou for the recognition for being an alpha/beta tester. It was quite a suprise to see a couple of ribbons waiting for me when I logged in to try the current incarnation of the game.

It always seems like I turn to VO when I am hardware/bandwidth limited (or at present both ;-) ) and it is great to still be able to play the game and have fun.

The VO universe looks so much bigger these days, but I still hope to catch you online some time. All the best to you, and thanks again for your commitment!

Thanks Toshiro. So far so good! I'm really enjoying the trial and will probably sign up for a year once it's done.

When did the sector maps come in? I like that you only have to distance yourself from large objects to warp out now... I might not get killed so much trying to run away!!

Missions are excellent too. I will hopefully get some of my friends online too.

Sector maps were introduced with the roll-out of the new universe, which was some time in late 2003 or early 2004, I think. Miharu might remember that better than me.

It was introduced in the spring/early summer of 2004.

I remember I wasn't quite out of school yet at the time, and that the addition of the XP system happened while school was still in session.
