Hello, I'm new to the game, downloading the client now. I'm coming from all the traditional mmo's, but I was wondering how this game faired to Star Wars Galaxies Jump to Light Speed. I'm in a mmo slump right not and I'm looking for a new home. Just curious about game play and new player friendly issues. Thanks for your time.

Gameplay has been compared to "Quake in space" terms. From what I know of Jump to Lightspeed, you have to start on the ground and get to a high level before you can fly in space. This is not the case in VO. Also, Vendetta doesn't work on the traditional "D20 like" style of play, so higher levels only allows you to access different (not necessarily better) stuff.

The one thing I think new players should know is that the game doesn't really provide a lot to do. There are some missions, but the real fun happens when you join/ get involved with a guild and the community creats fun situations. There are events like tube races, deneb run, nation wars, (rarely) bus fights, last man standing fights. There is a lot of captupre the cargo going on between itanis and sercos. Battles flare up here and there. So basically dont hang out in your nation space expecting the game to give you new and exciting missions, "missions" are player created. It's all about the community.
