Recently I noticed that the only surviving copies of the trailer were of very poor quality. So I've exported this new high res version and uploaded it to scuba's torrent. It's much better quality than the google video versions that are left and it's only 709 MB. I've also made a few minor edits to the trailer itself.
You can find the URL here: http://www.toastercrush.com/tor/NewTrailer.avi.torrent
You will need a BitTorrent client like azureus to download it. If you don't have one, you can find one here: http://azureus.sourceforge.net/
If someone wants to host the file after they've downloaded it through BitTorrent, they're more than welcome to.
Edit: Sorry to those who already downloaded the 1.78GB version. I just switched from XviD to DivX last night and got much better results. In any case, the 709MB version should go pretty quickly.

I think you mean BitTorrent, not FTP.
Also, you should try encoding it in Ogg Theora. :-)

Why whatever are you talking about rogue? My post has said BitTorrent all along! I didn't edit it after the fact or anything...
why does everyone like ogg so much? most people can't (don't have good monitors) see or wont notice the difference. personally i want everything in mpeg 2 format compatible with my tivo :)
ogg would be for sound, not video :)
And xvid is now compatible with just about anything.
Of course you could encode in AVC/h264 ;)
Seriously tho, for 5 mintutes 100Mb Xvid should be way more then enough to get reasonable quality.

You happen to be wrong Mick. Ogg is the container format. Ogg Theora is the video codec, ogg vorbis the audio codec :P
Both are pretty excellent though.

Apologies to those whose downloads abruptly stopped today. Lost power in my house for a while. Everything should be back up and running now though. Please keep seeding after you download if you wouldn't mind.
There was ogg video codec? And excellent one at that?
How come i never seen it? (Damn can it be i don't know everything?)
(i've seen xvid video in ogm container surely enough but ogg video? nah.)

my ISP blocks all BT packets.
All Bittorrent protocol packets, or just the common Bittorrent ports (6889 if I remember right). Have you tried changing the port used by your client?
Yep, tried it all.
They use a packetsniffer.

Damn switch ISP's! Bastards.
Wouldn't it just be easier to put it on YouTube? X_X lol
It already is on Google video.
But quality there is crappy so here's better version.

Here you go Mick:
http://www.theora.org/
It's from Xiph too..
Edit: Erm, is anyone else having an enormous amount of artifacts while viewing this? Ghost, can you host a torrent for the original file? I mean the first encode? I'll be glad to re-code it to Theora and H264

I still say can't you get good enough quality with xvid or one of the thousands of avi codecs and make the video smaller? Most people still won't hear or see a difference.
DivX and XviD are effectively the same thing, Jes. They're implementations of MPEG-4 and they generally are encapsulated in an AVI file. h.264 and x.264 are also MPEG-4 encoders, although they use the AVC profile, which theoretically means higher quality at a smaller size. They also usually go in an AVI enclosure. Ogg Theora is just... out there. :-)
Heh, thank you but i can find it myself just fine :)
In fact now i remember it exists, just never actually had video encoded with it.
I'm not getting artifacts but video freezes from time to time, while sound plays normally.
And Jestatis for those that don't see the difference it's on google video already :)
Not to say it can't be made smaller with good quality.

wow .. that 700mb file is compressed with cinepak.
I don't think anyone used that for anything serious for at least a decade.
av: if you use mplayer get iccvid.dll and use -vc cvidvfw. looks like ffmpegs cvid codecs is buggy

I downloaded the torrent yesterday. I can't view the video on my Ubuntu system. There are way too many artifacts. Audio sounds OK though.
