I took a 1 jump corier mission. Flew throuugh the wormhole and then shot at one of the behemoths. The serco iscorts reacted and destroyed me. I woke up in my itani station and then I got the escorts leaving messege and then

[06/14/07 23:20:41] Well, here we are!
[06/14/07 23:20:41] You were with us 66% of the route. Your reward has been adjusted accordingly.
[06/14/07 23:20:41] Combat +300
[06/14/07 23:20:41] Serco standing increased slightly
[06/14/07 23:20:41] 20952 credits added to your account.
[06/14/07 23:20:41] Himo Amasacia has left the group.

Checking my advancenent log I got

*Baka Rotos destroyed Himo Amasacia, and has been warned about friendly fire.

Andy's latest fix for the storm exit bug is causing sector crashes sometimes, fyi. It's probably not worth testing the escort mission for the next 6 hours or so.

All the best fixes for the shooting-your-own-group-members issues rely on reworking our reputation system, which is a whole other can of worms we're also working on. So, the escort mission may be abusable in the short term, but it's really no worse than other existing exploits.

I tried to do the mission, but for some reason it wasnt there. when I logged out (of the game) i was in dau d 10. when i got to the test server, i was in sedina. i tried to get back to dau but the connection timed out. ill try it later.

Agreed momerath. Nice work on the missions, I think they're running fine now.

ryan reign - the test server is a copy of the regular server from Monday last week, so when you log on there you'll be wherever you were on that Monday when they made the image. You'll notice your credits and licenses will also not match those for your char on the regular server.

Oops. I thought I had fixed it but I goofed up the fix last night. Should be good now, I think.

Escort missions aren't always available at every station; they're posted when a station can fulfill a need at another station, which changes over time.

That stinks for traders. I was hoping that trade bots wouldn't actually alter prices at a location. There's nothing worse than stockpiling thousands of goods, only to have to wait months after the price is tanked so the sale can be worthwhile.

The convoys won't currently affect station prices as player's see them. When our new economy is ready, they will, but a lot of things will be different and more logical. Stations and NPCs will be consuming and producing resources (according to station-type), so you'll be able to learn about long term trade imbalances and such and make money from them. Trust us, SilentWave, traders are going to love it:)

What about those like me who HATE trading? Are there any plans for some way to make a decent profit off of combat? preferabley PVP not just botting, wich to me is still just endless grinding just like trading.

Yes, indeed we have plans for the pvp fans, which I dare say make up the largest block of our players as far as most desired gameplay goes. John has talked about them elsewhere; let's try to stay on topic here. Though this thread will hopefully be obsolete in a few hours. :)

Some guy tonight was talking about the fact he was running around scooping loot from the constant mayhem in Deneb. Sounds like a way to make money off PVP to me.

And then of course there is the capture the cargo stuff :)

But yeah on topic. Escort missions goood :)

Pathing still needs some work. I had to literally push my convoy around a roid that they got stuck on.
