I know that the faction system is being changed but i have questions about the current faction system.

I killed someone at an Xang Xi station. We were both admired none of us lost faction. And yes i killed him in the NFZ.

So my question is what are the current circumstances that cased faction loss?

I think the current faction loss is broken. I killed someone inside the NFZ at a XX station recently as well and I didn't lose a single point of standing.

Wish this worked retroactively...

Did you become Temp KOS, and then have your faction restored to exactly how it was prior to that after warping away?

That sounds accurate, Andy. My Xang Xi started at 0 as far as I can recall, and did not drop a single point, although I got a message saying "Xang Xi standing decreased massively." Although the logs don't show that.

This was Friday night at about 7:50PM central time if I recall correctly. If you check the channel 100 logs I actually apologized to my target. I very definitely killed Maiz Man within the station's NFZ.

So, again, apologies to Maiz Man, but I don't recall taking any kind of faction hit from Xang Xi, since I checked and it was at 0 once I warped back into Sedina L-2

I believe certain players may have known about this exploit for a while now, and may have been using it to station kill without standing loss. (due to my experience with those players being more than willing to score kills at an orion station.)

I have scored several kills off you and other folks running away to an orion station, and I assure you I lost massive amounts of Orion standing.

Cool! I assumed that was an undocumented change in the way the nfz works to allow to defend yourself.
I never got a "standing reduced" message when blowin somebody up who attacked me.

I never got a temp KOS either. My faction was the same in system after i made the kill and after i jumped to another sector. The sf did go after me though. So i guess this is a really big bug.

Yoda: how did you loose XX standing?

If the SF came after you, you must have had temp KOS (at least as far as the server was concerned). Do you recall which particular sector you were in and approximately when this happened? I'll check the logs.

It was yesterday sedina L2, between 2:00 and 6pm EDT. Sorry for not being more specific, its in that time frame though.

but its happened many times before. Usually in Sedina L2 or Bratus C5

OK just happened again Nimatek killed me less then 100m from the tpg station at Latos N-15. He claims his faction was 0 before and it was exactly 0 when he jumped out the system. My faction is +958 at TPG.

Ok i just killed spellcast at sedina l2 an xx staion he was +999 and after killing him and jumping i was +611

so it does work i guess just sometimes
