While I'm sure we all have our favorite screenies, I've been making the effort recently to take some really nice, mostly natural screenshots of the Vendetta environment.

What I want to do is focus on the environment itself, with maybe only a single ship in the shot at most. But basically it's to frame up the beauty that often appears in random sectors (Pherona P-14, for example), but usually passes us by because we're on mission or something. I try as best I can to soak in the inspiration, and taken screenies helps that.

I hope folks here might find these screenies similarly interesting. If you have screenshots along this line feel free to post them.

First ones (before I got environmental)…

I'd been flying through one sector when suddenly this giant transport fleet jumps in behind me. Seems there are more of these massive, escorted fleets since I was last subscribed a year or so ago. But I was so enthralled by the amount of warpholes that opened while they travelled that I trailed them for a good four systems or so, and did this with multiple fleets. It's hard to get the idea of how many warps there really were, even from the photos.

Okay, environmenal shots. These are the sorts of things I hope to do more of. Maybe they'll make a few good desktops?

Pherona P-14. The mystery sector that always seems to be hiding something behind a random field of silicate roids. Of course, it's a desert there.

The giant ice roids in similarly said forgotten sector. It's hard to get shots of these giant, shiny roids because they're so angular. I'll take another try at it soon

Centaur wasn't the greatest looking ship, though from behind it looks pretty cool. Will try to get more of these up in the coming days, and with different kinds of ships. And if you have some screenies like these, post them too!

EDIT: didn't realize photobucket resizes anything they get. If anyone wants the full 1440x900 versions, I'll find a different way to get them online.

How do you remove the hud and the other interface from the window?

F4 to remove the hud, F12 to take a screenshot... on linux anyhow =) hope that helps.

I have tons of awesome pics of interesting locations/things (eg. hollow roids, crack roids, secret bases, intense capship battles, Stygian Furies.....) I will try to post some this weekend when I get home, visiting my parents for the day/night.

Just remember to rotate 180 degrees when you enter the sector you want to photograph or the pic will be upside-down. :-P
