2. Why did you chose that nation? (Nation descriptions, colors, etc...) I prefered the Colour Blue. I also read the back story and it seemed the itani are in a struggle for redemption even now, which appealed to me. Also I saw the picture of the Valkierie and I liked the look of the ship.

3. If you've made a new character, that you are currently playing, was it the same nation as your first character? I haven't made a new character.

5. When did you join vendetta online? (I'm really interested in recent users, less then one month, but everyone feel free to reply.) About 2 and a half weeks ago.

2. UIT fit the role I wanted to play with my character. Jorg Car'das ran a network of smugglers and traders as well as an information broker in the Star Wars novels. I wanted to portray that and being able to stay out of the war and be an independent trader was appealing to me.

6. I recently installed Linux on my PC in an effort to troubleshoot why Windows wouldn't install. I happened to do a search for games supported by Linux, narrowed it down to MMO's and found VO. I was pleased that I could play both on my Linux box at work as well as my Mac at home. I forget the website but Google led me there.

2. I wanted to be UIT, because my goal in this game is to be a trader, but after playing WoW on the horde side, and being outnumbered by annoying losers called the Alliance, I wanted to join the team where I have the advantage , and since Horde is red, and Alli's are blue, i went with blue

Serco. Created the character roughly 16 hours ago.

2. Why did you chose that nation? (Nation descriptions, colors, etc...)

I browsed the forum and found recent comments about Serco being the underdogs, especially in this thread. I also counted the answers and found that this thread has the most people siding with the Serco, which is funny. I had to interpret/second-guess some of the comments to decide what the commenter was playing now, and few I didn't count at all because it was impossible to say. Anyway, I don't mind fighting against bad odds. I just hope it's still consistently fun. I'd rather contribute to the solution of a population imbalance problem than be part of it.

3. If you've made a new character, that you are currently playing, was it the same nation as your first character?

I haven't. Turns out that as Serco I'm KOS to Itani NPCs and might not be able play well with Itani players, depending no their fighting zeal. ;) That'll be troublesome if the Serco trade networks are underdeveloped or something. I'd consider UIT next because of not wanting to take the apparently most populated side (Itani) and because it might best suit certain character concept. And I'd be able to play with everybody everywhere, if I've understood correctly.

I found VO months ago and created an account to download the client. I've been eyeing the install file now and then, but decided I had other stuff to do. Yesterday I read a nostalgy-filled blog post about space simulators and RPGs, and started thinking about alternatives to EVE Online again. I've tried EVE and found to my regret that it's much more fun to read stories about it than play it. Someone in the blog comments mentioned Freelancer (not an MMO but...) and I downloaded the demo client and tried it. Wow! Spaceship fights made playable! (I don't like realistic flight simulators, generally.) I had to try for an MMO version of that, even knowing how scarce EVE competitors are. So now I'm finally giving VO a go. :)

EDIT: VO doesn't have the same control scheme / flight model / UI of course, but it's at least playable compared to what I've tried before. I'll try to hold my final judgment until I've tried PvP.

6. How did you hear* about Vendetta Online?

I think I first found it at mmorpg.com back then. Also interested because I might play on Mac OS X (I've formerly playing WoW on Macbook when not at home) or Linux (my new gaming rig since 5 months ago doesn't currently have Linux though).

6. mmorpg.com, I was looking for a new thrill in mmorpg gaming. So I filtered on Sci-Fi. And looked for a game with free-trial period.
