Empty Asteroids?
In Sedina J-14 there are some asteroids which don't show up as having content on a mineral scan. They look like they should contain Xith (bits of green in them), but they're all 'blank'.
If I try to mine them, then mining begins but immediately stops with the message "There are no resources to mine here".
Is this expected? A bug? Asteroid hermits living there?

yo that ore got no mo' bitchin juice left yo!
actually, that sounds more like a bug. i've never seen that before.
incarnate said in his last news story that he had been tinkering with the database to make some stuff less static. perhaps something messed up in the db tweaks he's doing.

if they were arranged like a sphere, that could have been a former levi sector ... but they didn't look like that for a while, maybe that was fixed
They're arranged in a small circle, which looks artificial.
Then yes, that was a Leviathan Stronghold. They're supposed to disappear when the Leviathan has been destroyed. The rocks are "empty" because the Hive is supposed to have taken all of the resources to build the Leviathan and its entourage.
Before the levi rings didn't disappear. They stayed. It was a good way to catalogue which spots the Levi would appear in. Anyway, no mining can be done from them. They have been through atomic furnaces and are now nothing more than err.... dirt....
yeah. if "there's a ring of debries around your orun" then it was a levy bot hole.
in wich case, you dont get to benefit by mining it.

bah... it was ecka he mined them to death
its the wormhole to developia. You hast have to know how to trigger it. ;-)
It's easy to trigger it, you just have to sacrifice 100 newbs when Itan's moon is full.
Okay, thanks people. Sounds like it's not *that* unusual.
I must admit though, it was interesting to find something I hadn't come across before.

Heh, yep , It must be admitted that the first time I saw a leviathon ring I tried to mine it too. Erm, and the roids at the racetrack . And why do oruns never get mining level 1 ? Space is an odd place...........

Ecka
Eesh, Ecka, don't you ever lay off the mining?
I once sent Ecka a call-girl clone wrapped in a big bow an' naething else.
The company won't take orders from me anymore: something about the mess a mining beam makes of their girls.

Hehe. Er, aye sorry about that . Must put my specs on before starting the mining beams....
Don't lie: you knew exactly what you were doing, you sicko miner. Och, that's redundant, it is!
You mean you can't mine the racetrack roids?
How do you get that from a story of mining-beam mutilation, Cunjo?
