Drop the station shields and deploy the troops might be fun.
As for extra speedy Vultures, I've noticed the Centurions in C-10 sometimes pulling off maneuvers they shouldn't be able to, such as backpedaling to stay ahead of me and getting shots off while I'm turboing in the 70-95m/s range. Crazy accuracy aside, I didn't know going backwards that fast was possible. I'll see if I can't catch it on tape.

I tested this a few times, locking the turbo for long (5-15 minutes) periods of time and watching a vult catch up to a ship doing 220 m/s flat out. Since I waited until the bot was dead astern, it couldn't have been closing distance due to a tangent. Nor is their ability to keep up/catch up for long periods logical: vults aren't infinboost and they have heavy batts anyway.
And yeah, bot dodging is such BS: my favorite is when they dodge energy fire coming in from directly behind them, before it even reaches their ships. ESP ftw, I guess =P

Well, Itani are psychic, you know :P
no, itani have telekinesis they dont read minds
At least you don't, that's for sure :P
Bots have nearly always been able to turbo backwards, your quite correct, they cheat.
Anyways, bring on the turrets already!

Heh. Bots actually calculate the intersection course of everything coming at them from all directions within a particular radius, and find a tangent that gets them out of the way, if they can. They are irritatingly slippery that way. But they definitely can't turbo backwards.
Many of them do, however, have nonstandard engines. Border guards actually have the old interchangeable "Heavy engine" from a long time ago, which has a little more thrust, a slower top turbo speed, and less turbo energy usage than the usual Cent Mk II that they're flying. This was probably just because nobody updated the config when we went to unified ships/engines.
The nation defense bots intentionally have a better engine with a higher max impulse speed (75) and lower turbo engery usage (45) so they can infiniboost at 220m/s.
They're only cheating in that they have access to equipment you don't because they aren't very intelligent and they needed to be at least somewhat effective.

Does that mean that genka can get some? Or jexerome, for that matter...
aaaalright, fembots!
Oh man, fembots again.
Now we just need a glorious return of the ghost nation and mooning.
