Anyone ever play Jumpgate?
How close is this game to jumpgate? Was wondering. Jumpgate's long dead been looking for a good space combat sim for years and nothing much out there.

It's similar. One thing is though, jumpgate had a lot more people working on it. This game only has 4 people working on it. But, they are making steady progress. They plan to put a better friendly fire system into place, then put user-flyable capital ships into place. They just can't do it rapidly, due to the small number of people they have working on it.
Just log on and take a look around.

How many players currently on average?

The developers aren't doing any major advertising until they add some planned features (see zamzx's post) 'n stuff like that.

Yeah i have played jumpgate for at least 4 years since its release, although it HAD more people working on it, it hasn't had any one working on it since 2003 although net devil say there starting again. I'll be spending some time in VO to see how things are, from what i can see though things have come a long a bit :)
Hey Ix I use to fly with the AQM fellas a long time ago. Rockdoc, Spiritone and those guys. I see a few others on occasion. This game is like jumpgate light, it is currently still a work in progress. I enjoy the game, but it still has a bit to go before it becomes as detailed as JG. The numbers are actually the same as in JG currently. You see there actually working on Jumpgate again, have a team from netdevil working on it, gonna re release it at some point. VO is fun, and looks good but it lacks depth right now.
True , but the small but enthusiastic community creates depth . Look out for player run events such as Nation wars , the deneb run , flag raids , bus wars, TGFT combat mining events .....
