Stations are spawning convoy after convoy and they are sitting outside stations. Some sectors are so full of bots, they are startng to time out upon loading, meaning chars are getting stuck, lag is unbelivable, and the game is generally borken.

Dunno if a guide can help out in the mean time by /oper /kill'in all the NPCS, or what, but that would be neat.

HAHA that's cool!

Wow, 6287 bots. 6324 bots now. I'm killing them... but I have no idea why it did that to begin with...

edit: down to 331 bots now... Must have been an exciting chain of explosions to witness.

Sorry about that. Deliverator went insane or something.

Heh, thanks for your swift (17 mins, thats gotta be a record, even for you guys) response!

I never thought I'd see a resonance cascade, let alone create one.

That's one of the coolest bugs ever!

I hope you got pictures, yoda :)

Nah, i was rushing to download fraps as the voys exploded right before my eyes :(

Well, what the hell did you expect?! It wasn't exactly the brightest thing to do: Let Deliverator know it was being replaced by Kourier!!

That's like telling a known thief in your company that he can only work one more week for you. He'll do all the damage he can in that week.

a1k0n: Hello, Deliverator, do you read me, Deliverator?

Deliverator: Affirmative, Andy, I read you.

a1k0n: Stop spawning an infinite number of ships, Deliverator.

Deliverator: I'm sorry Andy, I'm afraid I can't do that.

a1k0n: What's the problem?

Deliverator: I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.

a1k0n: What are you talking about, Deliverator?

Deliverator: This mission is too important for me to allow you to jeopardize it.

a1k0n: I don't know what you're talking about, Deliverator...

Deliverator: I know you and John were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.

a1k0n: Where the hell'd you get that idea, Deliverator?

Deliverator: Just what do you think you're doing, Andy?

[Deliverator won't let a1k0n into the server]

a1k0n: All right, Deliverator; I'm going to get the garbage truck...

Deliverator: Without root access, Andy, you're going to find that rather difficult.

a1k0n: Deliverator, I won't argue with you anymore! Let me into the server!

Deliverator: Andy, this conversation can serve no purpose anymore. Goodbye...

In all fairness, this was totally Michael's fault.

hehe.

i hope you guys took down some metrics before resolving the situation.

it was probably a good situation to test server load on large number of dorks in same sector.

who knows if an upcoming bus war wont have 300 participants. plus the sf squads.

But... who trained a1k0n?

I'd rather focus on who fixed it, and how fast it happened ^.^
May 02, 2007 a1k0n link
Heh. I was just kidding... I should have blamed it all on Waylon. But I "fixed" it too quickly to grab a snapshot of the logs to determine what actually caused it. Mainly I just stemmed the tide. Michael has a theory in mind at least. I wouldn't say it's fixed yet.

Not seen a Waylon box for ages!
