Which nation would you think is best and plz explain why.

There is no "best" Nation. If you like to fight with light ships go with the Itani, if you like to have an overpowered ship or want to even out the teams, join the Serco, if you want to trade or mine join the UIT.

Aye, I'll echo the posts above. Choose Serco if you're more of a heavy armor, lots of firepower kind of person. Choose Itani if you're a light and fast, but paper thin kind of person. Choose UIT if you prefer to make a profit, combat pirates or become a pirate. Or combat the hive.

Since VO lets you play six alternate characters you can have two of each nation if you wish . Have a read at the forums, Players often generate an alternate character just for a role playing thread , or a serco or Itani alt to join in bp or bs missions.

...Or to circumvent any faction-imposed limit, and make the entire faction division pointless.

I think the nation of Saint Lucia is best. It's people are very warm and friendly and the island is lush and beautiful. The exchange rate is also beneficial.

Except for a few ships and the number of citizens, the nations are pretty much the same at the moment.

There is a perception that Serco are evil - this is a rather simplistic understanding of a complex issue. Read the last several chapters carefully.

The Itani are not peace-loving, they're piece-loving. They want Serco in pieces.

Itani are the best. I diagrammed my reasoning below in three simple phases.

1. Choose Itani.
2. ???
3. Profit!

As you can, blues are definately the superior race. It's science.

All are equal, specially since all three can get access to all three specialized ships (even if the UIT's is crap). So you can be both a "heavy armor, lots of firepower kind of person", and a "light and fast, but paper thin kind of person", and you can always "make a profit, combat pirates or become a pirate or combat the hive" regardless of your nation. It's all in the effort you put in.

So no nation is better than the others.
