Border Skirmish Clips

Mar 27, 2007 Ghost link
This was hosted a while ago but had some complications. Its up on google video now for those who want to see it.

Just a collection of some Border Skirmish footage set to music, nothing fancy. Suppose it would have been cooler if I had more players around when I was filming it, but them's the breaks.

**Edit: New higher quality version is up.

That was a good catch where the exploding HAC caught one of the Teradons with the wreckage. (Around 3:30 into the video, for reference.)

Excellent, Ghost!

is there a higher res version?

It's a great video I'd just to have it on my computer in awesome res like the vendetta trailer

Nice one Ghost!

Best one I've seen.

I personally have a higher res version, but with my normal compression problems it came out a bit large. I'll see what I can do about making it managable.

Use XviD... you can cut size dramatically without a noticable reduction in quality.

Nice vid, but... Project 86? wha?? Not the best fit for a warzone IMO :P

how large? I'm quite happy to torrent it from you during the night while you sleep! I enjoy your work.

Ok, that video was friggin awesome, and I don't have any complaints about the song either. I'm with CrazySpence, put out a torrent so we can download it!

Ghost, this is AWESOME! Try encoding the movie with x264 codec

Alright, due to popular request I've just finished up a better quality 571MB version. Having some trouble with google video though, keeps resetting after uploading 1MB. I'll post again when I get something working.

And yes, I clicked "overwrite existing files".

Nice. I'd recommend a .FLV (Flash Video) file, but the non-flash users would compain. :)

Okay, the new one is up. Quality is a little better. Should be in place of the old video using the same link.

Ghost, I'd like to interview you to get a perspective on a real pilot's take on VO combat. Interviews only. I've had enough excitement recently flying with so-called "competent" itani pilots.

Here's my card...

Ummm, sure. Contact me in-game or at the e-mail address listed under my profile on the VO wiki and I'll be happy to answer some of your questions.

Hey Ghost... That was great !!! No Sh*t !!! But some of the other comments
echo my feelings; higher res !! Ignore those other posts suggesting obscure
compression schemes. QuickTime MPEG4 is the answer. Big file? Who cares?
I've got a fat pipe!

.FLV for the suck...

I would largely agree with RattMann, except I would say "h.264 video", and I wouldn't complain about large file sizes because, well, my roommate just compressed a 30 minute television show into 5 MiB using h.264 (accidentally, he meant to type 50MiB into his encoder) and it's quite watchable. Yay for good-at-scaling-bitrate-wise codecs...
