Hello

Hi people.

I'm an ex Jumpgate eu player (any of you come from there?) so I was naturally drawn to VO. Like what I've seen so far, I'm sure I'll get used to the flight controls soon!

Small questionette though. I've got all video options turned on, and unlike in the screenshots I see the 'roids look like lumps of brick. My laptop has a radion X700 mobility, and I would have thought could handle bump mapping in a breeze. Is there something I'm missing.

Apologies if this question is posted in the wrong place btw.

Some asteroids are more bumpy and obvious than others, although they all have bumpmapping and specularity to some degree. Asteroids are distributed in the universe by composition of the local star(s), so they're system-dependent. On an X700 in windows with DirectX, it should be fine. If you're on another platform.. (Linux/Mac) it should still work, but I'm a little less confident and it can be a little more complicated.

Cool

I take it the roids are a wip then? To me the look of roids can make a space game from the point of view of a "oo pwetty graphics" type of person (i.e. EVE). And some of the roids here look great.

And control panel says my x700 has half a gig of video ram???? Shome mishtake shurely
