Govcannons are not funny.

Jan 27, 2007 Cunjo link
Some lvl 0 douche named ">=(" was hanging out in Sedina D-14 in a govbus and dropping load after load of govcannons in a ball outside the station. I picked up about two mothloads of them and sold them to get rid of them, and he proceeded to be a nuisance, shooting people to damage their ships, etc. He stopped dropping the cargo when Incarnate showed up, but after inc logged, he produced this fps-killer in short order, and I nearly crashed into the station trying to dock. The yellow number in the corner is my framerate.

Oh, and he thinks he's cute, too.

A few months back i was curious to see what effect cargo had on frame rate. I found out that 5 moth loads of bus guns dropped my frame rate so bad I could almost count the frames. also if I pile cargo by all station exits will the sf's pick it up unintentionally, would be funny to see them try and fly with 16000kg of samo in their vults.

NPCs don't pick up cargo (yet) :)

We're moving towards making weapons stackable, which will help with this problem. Then there'll just be one crate with a quantity of X.

Yeah, look... no hands, the deleterious effect of too many cargo crates on someone's fps is the reason the Devs made the cargo time out, as a1k0n showed us once with that nifty tool of theirs that writes stuff in space with cargo crates.

If are curious about that, click here, and scroll down until you reach "The Crate Lettering".

I popped in to investigate this, as did Lodestone. All was quiet when we were on.

"We're moving towards making weapons stackable, which will help with this problem. Then there'll just be one crate with a quantity of X."

So then it would still be possible, but more difficult and time consuming to drop the crates one at a time, and if you shot them before they did so, you'd only have one crate. Well that's better I suppose.

Slime: I've had a Serco station guard swipe a crate of heliocene I dropped while mining once, so I know that they *can* (or could anyway, it was a long time ago) pick it up, they just don't intend to.

I find this all quite amusing. Given that that there are many stations around too. Plus you could blast the bugger instead of whining :)

Wish I had thought of that...
