Arrow Keys
Hi, I just downloaded the trial version to check this program out. For some reason the arrow keys won't do anything, I have to maneuver using the trackpad on my laptop which is kind of annoying/impossible to use in combat. It seems like a pretty basic thing so I'm probably doing something wrong. Is there a bug on the mac version, or does this sound familiar? Any help for a clueless newbie? Thanks
well.. you *are* doing something wrong, and that is expecting the wrong layout.. the mouse/trackpad is for aiming.. for strafing, you use, w,a,s,d for forward/backward/left/right, and r,f for up/down, q,e for rolling.
you can also set the arrow keys up to aim, tho if you do that, you'll seriously need to be good, in order to be slightly competitive.
You can buy a cheap $20 USB mouse for that laptop, and it'll work just fine.

Press ; to turn mouselook off I believe.
It's been awhile since I've played, but I find that trackpad is fine for games. I pilot fine (admittedly without much skill, but without difficulty) with the trackpad, and I beat Halo on Legendary Mode (more a matter of patience than skill), using my right hand on the keyboard and my left hand on the trackpad. It would be interesting if the new MacBook trackpads supported extra features in VO for two-finger actions on the new trackpads.
get a joystick. lol.
Joystick is your best friend...trust me on this ;)
uh, no.
