The flattening does cut a bit of cross section, which is nice, because a standard valk is extremely easy to hit. Compared to a Vult though, the X-1 is still a fatass, which is fine. This isn't a uber change, it feels very minor. It still flies like a valk, it's just slightly harder to hit head on, which is a good thing, because in general, a standard valk with energy or even one flare loses to a capable vult pilot.

I`m sorry if I sound hostile, that is neither my intent, nor helpful, and I apologize for that.

No, I`m addressing playability. VO is not exactly playable when it`s impossible to fight or at least to defend, and that is what I am presented with. There seems to be an assumption that it is easy to do and/or easy to learn, hence the idea to make a mission `challenging` by setting up a large number of enemies to fight.

Of course, it is logical to do so and thus appears to make sense, but it doesn`t make sense as long as it`s impossible to fight at all. New things like new ships can be put in, changes can be made, like to the faction system, but that doesn`t help with playability in the first place. That`s a pity because it would make for a great game I would like to play --- if it were playable.

If there`s an assumption that fighting can be learned, than it would be nice to have something in the game presenting a good way to learn it. I tried for some time with no success, and everything I was told to try turned out not to work for unknown reasons.

Besides, look at how many players actually play. There`s maybe 50 players who do and who seem to be those who don`t have much trouble with fighting. I wonder why there are no more, and I can`t help thinking that VO is a game for like 30 players who spent at least a year --- and most of them more --- on trying to find out how to play. The 20 others don`t seem to play that much and to mostly show up for participating in events like the Deneb run. I also can`t help thinking that that will never really change unless playability issues are dealt with. Doing so might require to touch very basic things neither the few current players, nor the developers would ever want to change.

Which ones? I`ve never seen that before.

Unfortunately, I can`t see more than the ping, and though the ping doesn`t tell much, the connection seems to be fine.

I played for about a month, trying different combat techniques, from "pure damage dont care about myself" to "light as possible, just stay alive and deal what little bit i can"

I've found that my happy medium is somewhere in the middle.

Distance control is the number one thing.. stay close enough that you can hit the other ship, stay far enough away that they can't hit you.

The reason I don't play much anymore? Well, for one, my account isn't paid up atm.. I have RL stuff taking most of my time..

My rank? 10/10/10/11/6
kills? 37pks 1269botkills 281deaths - mostly to players..

after the first couple of weeks, I rarely died to bots unless I was stupid, or attempted to take on more than I could handle..

For the life of me, I cannot fathom why you constantly say how you can't kill anything.

As far as "learning to fight" goes.. practice.. die alot.. and LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES instead of saying the system is rigged.

He does kill things. But the moment he dies, "It doesn't work/The game is broken/The game isn't playable". I know because I watched him be mellow and winning to complaining and losing.

There is no such distance. Trying to change the distance tends to make me get hit even more while doing so.

I don`t say that. I can slowly torture a few bots to death before having to repair or before I`m dead, sometimes it`s only one and the next one kills me. It`s a torture for me as well.

That would be a way if there was any improvement to be seen. The crucial mistake is getting hit which can only be avoided to some extend by trying to run. But you cannot always run.

Hm, I`m not sure what that means; my understanding of English fails on this one. Making a few lucky shots sometimes, doesn`t mean much.

This is either someone with a learning and/or physical disability, or the most obnoxious troll ever.

Either way, the final answer here is the same: VO has a very helpful player base, but they can't show you how to fly. At some point, all suggestions/tips/help has been given and further communication with you is a pointless waste of time. That point was past ages ago.

People, it's time to stop replying to yun. In any form. At all. Just. Stop.

And yun, unless North Korea/China/Iran has suddenly decided to field a national VO team comprised of yourself, I fail to see why you're so hell-bent on learning to play this little game. Seriously, if all this has been in good faith, there's only one answer: you suck at VO.

Play something else. Don't play something else. Who cares... just don't play VO. Invest your time in a game you have some hope of enjoying by improving from X point to "playing well." That is clearly impossible for you to do with VO.

If you insist on staying and playing, realize that there's nothing else to tell you, no tips or hints left to give, and just shut the hell up already.

Anyway back on the X-1\

I hope you let people who have the ships keep them, not necessarily access to buy them.

If not, at least change them to Valkyrie Vengeances, they are the same stats :S

And keep the blasted name, even if they're just Vengances in all other respects =P

Sheesh, Leeyun, shaddup already. We get it, you suck at twitch combat. Go mine or trade or something.

Ok, we're well into off-topic la-la land, I think this thread has served its purpose. Please feel free to continue posting Valkyrie X-1 feedback to Suggestions.
