And does he deserve that? We are not customers paying to play. We are testers enjoying the community at the price of reporting something when it breaks in as specific a level of detail as we can manage. This character drives off new testers. Less testers mean less thorough examination of the engine, which works counter to the principles of the test. If someone is acting in a way that compromises the test he or she should not be permitted to participate in this manner.

But if someone is not willing to acknowledge all the aspects of the game (aka this is an RPG and there is NO insurance that you will not die at the beginning), do they really need to be testing?
Either way, it's still a problem with that individual characters, and not all the player's characters. Either way, there's still no reason to harass him OOC.

It's my opinion that Vendetta is not a pure MMORPG game yet. And to be honest I don't think it will ever be. We won't ever see dice rolling type of gameplay for Vendetta. If it was a true MMORPG, it would be more like Homeworld. Group a bunch of ships together, tell them where to go, and click on a button to engage in combat. That isn't the case for Vendetta. While there is an inventory system and some degree of vast exploration, everything is still real-time and the fate of your ship lies in your piloting skills alone (through a first person perspective I might add). The combat or deathmatch part will always be there.

Point is, don't label this game into something it isn't. Don't think that everything will translate over exactly as previous MMORPG games have been like. It'll be a unique hybrid of both deathmatch and role-playing styles. But even this point is irrelevant in the argument. Right now what the game needs is a lot of testers. If certain people are driving out testers due to cheating, exploiting, or by simply having poor manners, they need to be dealt with. Hopefully future updates will make their lives harder, either with improved defenses or with a new penalty system. But for now it would be nice to have all the information we can get to protect any newcomers from these guys.

Although, you are wrong on that account, also. If the line between characters and their players is broken, it will become impossible to role play.

I use to be Gold and all I seen for the better of 7 months was all the 4 on 1 and 5 on 1 action 24-7 to no end. No matter if it was a free ship or not. You Yellows make me sick. I want to fight for a better world, not kill those who can't fight or hope to win.

so I went to Blue. 3 days of playing to get a good ship and make the run from 14 to 18. why? the Yellers keep killing the new Ship. After 1 month of being on the weaker teems, being killed for trading. 3 or more just to try and KILL ME...

Now I kill ALL YELLOWS! I don't care how, mine the home base, nuke them, Kill them all...

The vendetta test is about as roleplaying as quake.

CSZeus, because it isn't a true MMORPG. It's a hybrid. I never said it was 100% Quake. Elements of both genres exist in Vendetta. That's all.

Pyro, orbri has the right to do what he is doing, if the golds find him annoying kill him and don't bitch about it, bitching gets you no where, it just makes you appear annoying. Orbri is taking actio for the abuse he has received, he has deemed it right for him to do this. I have seen golds do this, i beleive moreso then reds.

Well, if it's as role-playing as quake, then why are people complaining? Nobody worries about who's a n00b in quake. Nobody gets mad and threatens to quit playing the game because somebody's using so-called 'cheap' tactics.

Arolte, if it's not role-playing, why do you keep complaining about "the community"?
Just because we don't use dice doesn't mean it's not an RPG. You joined a nation, you work with teammates, YOU ARE PLAYING A ROLE. Hence the term RPG. It's not D&D, I'll give you that, but player/character interactions remain the same. I'll agree, it's not a strict RPG - it's an FPS/RPG. Either way, though, my point still stands. There's a line between in-character and out-of-character that shouldn't be crossed.

Orbi, I would suggest you do this skillfully, such as, rename yourself to "Bountyhunter" or something along those lines...... "Gold killer" might preempt you and get a ton of people on your 6 before you even fire.

It would be cool if Gold Killer also did the following things:

1) Stop generalizing about Gold. All nations have all sorts of players.
2) Fight honorably. Your presence tends to remove all civility and fair play from whatever sector you're in. All you do is mine docking ports and occassionally fly out, deploy mines and homing missiles, and fly back into the station.
3) Don't become what you hated. Newbies on every nation have griefers from the other two to worry about. All Golds are targets for you; even newbies. Did it occur to you that you're making them feel just as you did?

No i have not, i'm just stateing he has the right to pay his debts. (as in revenge) If he beleives that attacking golds in general, that is fine, but he should do so fairly. It is his decision, not mine.

i really think it sucks, and its a bad idea to have a vendetta (no pun indented) against one nation. And plus... If he's gonna have a vendetta against us, dont call us golds. Please call us by our nation name. :P.

PS. Who ever you are, im only gonna be pissy towards you when your in s6,11,10, or 3. those are my sectors. if you havnt noticed they smell like barnyards when you fly through them.

Actually, Sheepdog, I prefer to be called a member of Gold Nation as opposed to a Neutral. In this stage of the Vendetta test we're as solid a nation as any other. Very successful, too. :)
