Pilot 13! Come back sos I can shoots ya! Yarrr!
yeah. me too.
i was thinking the other day that i keep coming back to the site hoping there are more users online so i can have a good reason to start p(l)aying again.
i just hear this idea of not promoting the game "yet", but "soon". i bet a lot of players are hanging arround waiting for the moment when at least a hundred users are active at any one time so they can join again.
will it ever happen ?

That reminds me of the argument that we had on the forum a while back; that the newbies who whined about there being only a handful of players on at a given time and that they didn't want to play until there were more people. The obvious flaw in their argument is that if they don't stay because the ingame population is small, the ingame population won't ever rise, if every newbie made that argument and left because of it.
Communities only get larger by there being a net gain in members over time--if the die-hard people stick around and the newer people come in, decide there aren't enough people and then leave, the population can only stay stagnant or go down. What people need to realize about that argument is that by staying with the community they are making the population bigger, and every little bit helps.

Hey Pilot!
Good to hear from you. Stop by our place and catch up with old friends.

MSKanaka: your arguments would normally be valid. not in this case here. because what i saw on the forums is that GuildS deliberately does not WANT the player base to grow at the moment, so they don't advertise as much as they COULD advertise, so that the possible players won't join too SOON and be dissapointed.
so i am not complaining if it's because of strategy, however i am saying that i am waiting for a good reason to play. i myself would advertise vendetta gladly on my sites just to see more players online if Guild wouldn't say "don't" (actually, i am advertising Vendetta anyway, but only on one of them and not very agressive)
so... WHEN? ... just sadly waiting for a Mmorpg, now it's just MORPG.

It's not that they don't want the player population to grow, but that they feel any effort to make a big push for more players would be wasted. Yes, they would gain more players if they got the game some more recognition, but with a much lower conversion rate (trial accounts that sign up for a subscription) than if they wait until the game has reached a "2.0 complete" state.
The current word of mouth process that goes on works because players who enjoy the game enough to keep playing (for any af a variety of reasons) pass the info on only to those that they know are likely to have the same kind of experience with it.
