Probably not Norse, if he's an American he'll probably have to wait until he is 21.

American huh

But he can smoke! Yeah, there's more government money in cigarettes than alcohol, since you can make them legal but define them as evil and tax the hell out of them, and you have a somewhat captive base. Oh, and I don't know what the spaceship license age is, but he's probably been driving for 2-3 years.... it's an easy step up from stickshift to "Flight-Assist Mode."

Speaking of driving and alcohol.... Anyone else find it stupid that a 16 year old kid can control a 4000pound 300horsepower machine, risking his and everyone elses lives around him, driving like a damn fool... and yet.. for some reason.. its illegal for that same kid to sit his ass at home and get drunk and not go anywhere or do anything..

weird. I mean.. if he's supposedly mature enough to handle an automobile in rush hour traffic... why cant he handle a beer sitting at home? Either raise the driving age to 18 or 21, or lower the drinking age..

And while I'm on the subject.. someone's mature enough to vote for the leaders of the country yet cant go buy a sixpack when the leader(s) he voted for screw something up? Please.. thats stupid. either raise the voting age to 21 (which I support.. i dont think 18yr olds have the life experiences necessary to be able to choose their leaders yet.. but.. whatever.

I maneuver that 4000 pound machine with skill, and style!

I agree, break. This is getting to the off-topic range, but some of these things are all messed up, and it can be traced back to votes or money.

Prof. Chaos: Man, there's a ton of money being made by government entities in both taxes and state-owned alcohol distribution enterprises. I can only hope those revenues are being put to good use.

Break19: Don't forget that when a U.S. citizen turns 18, he or she can join the military and then have the awesome burden of toting around/driving/piloting lethal weaponry and taking the lives of other human beings. And these young adults still can't legally put back a beer on their off-hours. Yes, that makes complete sense to me.

"I can only hope those revenues are being put to good use."

Ha!

Um, can we move this to off-topic?

Happy 18th, though, macguy.
