VO for the casual gamer?
Hi Guys
A year and a half ago I begun playing a little game called "World of Warcraft". A year after that, I managed (with the help of friends) to wean myself off the WoW drug and get my life back ....
I am still a paying WoW subscriber, but havn't played for the past 6 months as I am too scared to log back in and put my life on hold for another period of time.
I have come to the conclusion that WoW does NOT cater for the 'casual' gamer - it's either all or nothing should you want to get anywhere in the online universe.
I love the MMORPG aspects of the game, but without the addiction and the huge time sink required to get anywhere!
My question - Vendetta Online looks very impressive. Does it cater for the casual gamer? Can I spend a few hours a week and still have a sense of achievement and ultimately not feel like I need to dedicate endless nights on some task or other for that feeling of accomplishment?
Thoughts much appreciated :).

Within a week you'll have 80% of the equipment unlocked.
Approximately....
Depending on your skill, not how much time you spend.

Thanks for the reply BoxCarRacer :).
I can imagine I would have the odd evening for a few hours, and possibly a day on the weekend here and there ..
Would this be enough time to get satisfaction from the game? I guess I'll just have to give it a go and find out!

It's probably more than enough. There are some people (like me) who spend as much time as possible ingame, but there are also a bunch of people who get by by just playing for an hour a day or less.
Yes, you can only spend a few hours a week and still enjoy it.
I go through spurts where I play more than normal, but RL gets in the way all too often. I'd rather play more, but I feel good that I can exercise self control and enjoy the time I do get to spend playing.
Invest $10 and give it a try for a month. You will be hooked.

VO allows for many play-styles. The casual gamer can sample quite a bit in a few hours per week. Heck. Even if you exceed the trial period and spend $10 USD on a month's subscription, it is worth the experiment.
Good luck to you.
Good luck to you.
It's up to you how much you want to play VO, but I can assure you it will not take away your life unless you want it to.
Thanks everyone for the responses. I'll be sure to give the game a go over the next week and hope to see you all online :).

I don't think that anyone fits the moniker of "casual gamer" better than me. Sometimes I vanish for 2 weeks, sometimes I'm on every weeknight.
Regardless, I think VO is enjoyable if you play for one hour and get into some dogfights, or whether you heat up asteroids all weekend in the background while you watch The Venture Brothers marathon.

I'm definitely one of the casual types that hang around. I get maybe a few hours a week. I might get a few more hours on the odd Saturday, if I'm lucky. :P

Oh, most of his time is because of #sigma
Yeah... Solra's not been ingame a lot aside from our guild bot recently.
