Getting skins to work

Jun 30, 2006 Axis.Master link
Can someone tell me in easy to understand, step by step instructions of what to do and what/where everything is (like the config.ini thing). If you can, that would be much appreciated.

It depends on your OS.
If you are on a mac, then download the skin, find your Vendetta application, right-click (or control-click) on it and click Show Package Contents. Move the folder of the skin into the Vendetta application, open config.ini with TextEdit, scroll down to the [Vendetta] section, and add the line: skin=skinfoldername/ at the bottom of the section (don't forget to include the / !).

if linux, extract the skin folder into ~/.vendetta

then, edit config.ini following slime73's instructions

In WIndoze, just like Linux, extract to the VO folder and then edit the config.ini with notepad or the text editor of your choice.

slime73, not 2 :p
In M$ Windoze don't you have to add a backslash ( \ ) instaid of a slash?

In Windoze we do all via graphic UI, so the slashes are unneeded. Otherwise, why rip off Mac OS?

i'm pretty sure you do need the slash to get skins working jex...

*sigh* since you obviously think a Windoze user can't figure out which slash to use, and in order to get you to STFU:

skin=<<foldername>>/

That's how the line should be in the config.ini

Which slash to use? theres only one slash Jex :P \ = slash / = backslash :P So lets get off the topic of Doze folk not knowing a \ from a / shall we? :>

Sorry, had to post it somewhere :>

... Umm.

/ = slash
\ = backslash

Note the backslash is leaning, err... Backwards? :(

It's not backwards...it's upside-down.

yes, but try saying "upsidedownslash-Program Files-upsidedownslash-Guild Software-upsidedownslash-Vendetta Online-upsidedownslash-skin", and see how long THAT lasts :P

internally, Windows can use either slash.
We always use / in VO for everything.
