General Scale

It would be fun if the devs actually scaled the ships to size. IE: if a centurion was really 10m, a prom really 21m. I think the ships might be vaguely in scale right now, but I doubt it actually comes out to the correct number of meters. It would be cool if it did.

When I saw the Connie for the first time, my reaction was WOAH! THAT THINGS FEKKIN HUGE! Maybe it just looks that way to me cos my gfx card sucks atm so I cant max everything (eugh, infact if I try, the system falls over, damn ATI) so everything has a definate *edge* against that really blurry skybox, where as on mi older PC (god rest its soul!) where I could max everything, things just didnt look right sat on the very high res skybox.

I'm no artist (a piss artist maybe, but thats for another thread) but maybe this is due to lighting and or edge perception. Jex's pictures actually gives a good look at this. On the one against the grey *nebulea* you can kinda see definate outlines on the Trident, but not the Centaur, but due to the Centaur being lit up more, it appears to be slightly closer to us than the back of the Trident (does that make sense? heh) where as on the picture with the ice-yo background, neither ships are clearly defined, and the lighting is roughly the same, making both ships to be perceived at the same distance. (but the prom is a lot closer to the *camera*)

GL to getting that fixed, its easy on a game that has say, a floor, but in space making things scale correct is gunna be a chore!
