but it doesnt really reflect the nature of the ship, what with the 4 huge guns and all...

No, t3R4D4Cty1 or some other AOL-er speak.

Names are easy to make fun of, yet strangely hard to come up with.

The dinosaur theme works well. Let's make the capship named Turok (Dinosaur Hunter)

a1k0n stopped working on Vendetta to say: For the record, I made fun of the name mercilessly right after seeing it. But he wouldn't change it, so I suggested some new names, like Velocirator and Teradactyl

VELOCIRATOR sounds like a good nickname for the physics engine...

Velocirator Enables Large Orbiting Craft In Realtime, Allowing Transportation Of Rastafarians

or...

Velocirator Excites Local Objects Causing Interactions Remarkably Analgous To Our Reality

EDIT: The first one was originally "Robots". I pondered changing it to "Rabbits" but then Scuba suggested "Rastafarians". It stuck.

The second one had a few options for the first O word... Scuba suggested "Octrees" as a joke that very old alphas would get, and I was considering "OEObjects" as a reference to the now-closed Lua interface.

Hehe... I just visualized the scene in Firefly's very first episode (Serenity) where Wash (Alan Tudyk) was playing with the plastic dinosaurs... hehe... "this is a fertile land and we will thrive... and we will rule over all this land... and we will call it... 'this land'..."

That *still* cracks me up...

Oops... side-swiped the thread a bit... but we were talking about dinosaurs... kinda...

Hah! I love that episode. Whole series, but that's classic.
