Well for the past week I've been playing VO with skype, IM, and firefox open at the same time, AND my computer was about 50 feet from the nearest airport express. With the exception of a few occasions (*cough- Viper88*) my ping was relatively normal. This morning, however, I was having trouble downloading the patch, so I moved my computer RIGHT under the airport, and it went faster. However, now playing VO, my ping is constantly around 500, with NO other programs open. Is this some problem that I can't figure out on my end, or is anyone else having lag problems post patch?

Maybe because you use wireless?

Ghost apparently is having the problem too, and it seems to be only in B12, and yes, only after the update.

Smitens: Never ever ever play online games over a wireless connection. Get an ethernet cable, plug into the Airport's "extra" ethernet port, which is usually intended for a printer or something.

I'm sure someone else here can explain why not to do this, but it has something to do with latency.

Yes, do. I had to syffer for 8 months on an AirPort.

P.S. Smittens my ping is a steady and stable 17 ms. Like a ROCK!

You certainly can game with an airport network, it is more than fast enough if you set it up properly.

Make sure:
That you are using a decent Multicast rate (at least 5.5 higher is better)
That you have "Interference Robustness" turned on
That you have switched to 802.11g only (unless you actually have older wireless on your network)

I routinely host internet games and even LAN parties with my Airport Express.

I play over a Airport, and I consistently have 31ms ping. Youguys are crazy airport haters! I bet you just set something up wierd.
