max skill ranks
IM new to the game, if you havnt noticed...and i was wondering what the max skill ranks were? 10? 20? 3bizilolian? thx
Probably 2^32 - 1
We don't have a skill cap, but we don't have enough content for anything beyond like.. 8-10 right now. Nor is that really a critical part of our design, License Levels are supposed to be secondary to mission-driven content (ie, you pass a certain mission and get access to new stuff because of it), but we're still adding a lot of the missions. For now, most Stuff is available under license level 6.
As far as I know the maximum required license levels for all current ships and equipment are 9/9/7/13/8
thx
and i hope to be joining your game very soon! my beta timed out

Hey Boggle, hope to see you around!
oh, and by the way... where did you hear about VO? We're doing sort of an informal survey...
/me crosses his fingers and hopes it's not the Mac downloads sight...
but be honest, :D It's ok if that's where you found it.
Looking forward to shooting ye' down in-game,
-Calder

Sarahanne: It's actually closer to 9/9/10/13/8. SkyCommand Prometheus needs Heavy 10.
Oh, the Serco and I don't get along so I might have missed that varient.
Revised: you can get most ships an weapons with 9/9/7/8/8 with the exception of two varients of the main ship types: the SkyCommand Prometheus (9/6/10/1/0) and the RevB Marauder from Valient (8/0/0/13/0)
The TPG Raptor is only available via mission tree.

4/4/0/0/0 will let you buy heavy batteries and Nuetron Blaster mkII in addition to most of the top rated fighter/interceptors, including:
(IBG) Itani Border Guardian Centurian ( rated by some as the very best)
(Rev-C) Orion Rev-C Centurian (almost identical to the IBG)
(Vult4) Vulture mkIV (The most competitive standard model)
(Vult3) Vulture mkIII (In direct competition to the Vult4's title)
(SVG) Serco Vulture Guardian (Slightly better than Vult3/4)
(Note: 3/3/0/0/0 : Vult3, Nuetron1, meduim battery = deadly.)
