RULES.

any battery
stock ec-89

you can come back after death and re enter the fray but there will be a time limit of a half hour, the one with the most bus kills at the end wins.

to ensure a fair counting YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER at the latest 10 minutes before the fight so we can check your kill rating and log it, they will be checked at the end to determine the winer.

1ST place gets 1mil
2ND place 750k
3RD place 500k

Heheh, this should be especially interesting, since I hope to replace the EC-88 on Friday with Luis's new "bus". Which I'll probably call the EC-89.

The old EC-88 mesh and info will still be in the game, I won't be removing it, but it won't be for sale anywhere. I'll make it available as part of a mission tree, but I have to write the mission tree first, so it'll probably be gone for a few weeks.

I hope people don't mind too much having a bus war with the "new" bus? It's pretty cool looking, I can vouch for that.

Those are shots from in the engine, on my GeForce 6800GT card, captured in 1600x1200.

Just quick shots, they don't really do it justice, but you'll all be seeing it in game shortly, if all goes well. And yes, it should look like that for anyone with shaders enabled on a DX9-capable card (Radeon 9500+, GeForce FX+) on Windows, Mac or Linux. Mysterious recent shader-related bugs notwithstanding (Ray says he fixed those).

The top shot of the EC89 actually uses the full-resolution textures (higher res than we export for the game, but which we may make available in an optional Texture Pack for people with 256MB-512MB cards, somewhere down the road). The previously posted screenshot uses the game-resolution exported textures.

ok the new free ship looks sweet, BUT we have one problem it docent look like a bus, so we need to think up a new name for it, shuttle is what it suggests to me.

I think GPC works pretty well (general purpose craft). But bus will probably remain the name. The hi-res add-on pack sounds like a smashing idea, old chap.

I´m working on some faction specifics ships, but, for the moment it´s more important to just add more ships that everyone could have acces, in my opinion, at least

nice!! only things it's missing are a cockpit and external weapons, same as the other two TPG ships... not bad things at all, per se, just different than the rest . .

how about the "bug", or the "arrow"?
