Greetings all,
Here are a few things that should improve the reliability and playability of the Escort mission in particular, and Deliverator missions in general. A few of these were put in place last night, and the rest are about to be.
* I removed the "so-and-so is waiting to allow for docking" thing. It introduced problems that are not easy to fix, and it shouldn't really be necessary anymore, given other changes in this release.
* You are told the gathering sector in your first mission message.
* The gathering sector is chosen in order of nearness to the mission's station. Together with the earlier info, this should make it much easier to get there before the other ships, and therefore dock with the Trident.
* The missions now have a (working) minimum wait after player join. In other words, if a player takes a mission, whether they are the first player or not, there will always be at least some mission-specific amount of time before it starts (even if the count has to be backed up). It's currently 2.5 minutes for the escort mission. Keep in mind that it can be longer if the mission was recently posted.
* The npc pirates that camp the wormholes are now Unaligned. This was the only simple way to make them red on your radar before we revamp the reputation system and some of the UI code.
* The Guard the miners mission now gathers in the destination sector. This should make it more reliable and save on available gathering sectors.
* There is now a lot more info in the Escort mission description. Destination faction and expected mission duration, being the most useful.
* The new TPG Teradon Frigate is now a part of convoys (randomly like the other ship-types).
I think that's all. There are still some bugs I know about, and no doubt some I don't. Please continue to report anything you think *might* be worth reporting, through the "/mission bug <short description>" mechanism. Anything requiring a real discussion can be posted here.

Well, I'm fairly certain that we won't get any more stuck Teradons.
One of the changes I made has made the beginning of the Escort mission a bit confusing under certain circumstances. Basically, sometimes you have to wait a while for the traders to show up after it says the convoy is "underway". I'll fix that tomorrow.

I don't know if this is right place, but...
1. Escort mission. We had a group, but when one of us took a mission, the didn't receive any mission instructions. We actually managed to have 2 different escort missions while being in the same group
2. ACP mission, group again. When one of us left a region, it happened that my partner became out of mission.
So are group mission supposed to work at all? :)

I know it's confusing. We'll be making it clear with the new mission interface. The thing is, Deliverator missions are group missions in a different sense than, for instance, BP. You each must take the mission. What group you are in makes no difference to Deliverator; it keeps its own groups, which include NPCs. We can't currently group you with NPCs in the client-sense, or we would group you with your whole mission group at the start.
i have posted this with the ingame mission bug twice but just to be sure I will say it here too
Twice I have taken a convoy mission and once we get to the destination system the convoy turns around and goes back the other way
Bizarre!

Hmm, I recall something similar on one escort mission--the Trident entered the destination sector, then turned around and flew back to a wormhole sector where I saw the "mooring" message. I didn't think it was worth mentioning as I figured it was part of the "board in empty sectors" fix to the missions.
Same things happened to me. The whole convoy got to the destination sector and about-faced. Then, after one jump, they warped back to the destination sector (ie: mission comp and me being rigth next to them both said they were going to Ukari L-2), but they never got there. The whole convoy vanished.
Wha!!?? I'll look into it- never seen this myself.

If you can't be nice, don't say anything.

Same results as CrazySpence and roguelazer:
3 missions in past 2 days
All 3 arrived at destination OK - then they stopped, reversed course and after a few jumps going back to the Escort's origin, they disappeared.
Sent mission bug reports on all 3.
Thanks.

ALL YOUR PROGRAMMING MISTAKES ARE MAKE PRODUCTION! and belong to us. or something.
Really johnhawl, we're all doing the best we can here. We do test the hell out of stuff. But, we are not Blizzard, we do not have professional testers, and half our bugs don't even show up until they hit production. The only way I can guarantee a bug-free game is by not adding anything new. And you do want us to add new content, right? If so, we could do without the constant negativity.

Sorry, negativity is all I have left for VO, you've killed my optimism about a year ago.
If you're so disappointed, displeased, disillusioned and disenfranchised why do you hang around so much?
Please, for your well-being and sanity, find a new outlet. Such negativity cannot be healthy; I'd be amazed if you haven't already given yourself an ulcer, gray hair and skin blemishes.

Also, as im sure you once again got my bug report, a series of unfortunate events lead to a completly doomed mining mission
#1 the mission was for sector A10
#2 the gathering sector was A10
#3 a currently underway hive hunt was in A10
#4 Ion storm in A10
#5 after fighting off the hive hunt mission the mining missions bots appeared just in time to kill the last remaining miner but! since it was the gathering sector there was no penalty to me and the mission ended without even technicaly beginning.
