VO funding and donations

I am seriously worried about the future of this great game. Have you devs considered adding a donation button? Whatever helps. I know of some people who have signed up multiple accounts to support you guys, but theres only so many accounts u want to open if you want to donate a larger amount. Wouldnt cost a thing to have it. :)
If I said alot of bs right now just delete this post.

I don't think people have to worry about VO abruptly closing down or anything. Remember that this game was totally free for a few years - it can be run on a shoestring.

Continued development is another story. If we want the re-coding and features to continue (and they will continue - faster than ever now) then there needs to be money to pay for the full attention of the talented programmers who make it all happen. Subscribing is excellent, but a donate button would be cool. There used to be one - I think it went through PayPal. I used it back then, and I'll kick down a few more bucks if it shows up again. Maybe the devs could put it in an obscure place if they're feeling shy about it.

Hmm, the manual might be a good place to put it, but yeah, if it came back, i'd be sure to click on it from time to time n send some monies when im either a) feeling really rich (hah! so never then yeah?) or b) after an amazing update, like this one, yay!

Put it inside the billing options screen. That way only paying customers who understand the devs aren't just begging can do it. Heck, the devs aren't begging for money, we're begging to be allowed to buy them food! (or at least something better than spam!) :D

Ahh. yes, well, you guys should just have a "buy the devs chinese, pizza, or whatever else" night.

Codemonkeys are happier if you feed 'em =D

Myself and a couple friends are looking at doing some webhosting and such again.

If we can assist in some way, let us know.

Again, it's a startup (err..re-start-up), so I'm not sure how much we could help at this point, but let me know what you need, and we'll see what we can do to assist.

What's $50 when one stares at several $100+ bills, eh?
Apr 11, 2006 sarahanne link
That's only because I take any overtime offered to me. I'm working 50+ hours a week.

Standing offer to drop by LeberMac's house for food if devs (and/or significant others) are starving:
Kraft dinner for everyone!

If yer lucky I'll chop up some hot dogs and throw 'em in as well!

Wow you just need to break out a jello mold and you're have a real retro bash.

And here I was just planning to make prime rib for Easter. (Got to splurge once in awhile)

I generally dislike internet advertising but a simple banner should bring in some money. The public library a few blocks away has a bunch of computers; I wonder if each one could count as a hit?

/me <-- *is* the proud owner of... uh... "more than one" account... the *real* paying kind... not the temps or trials... (and one that, no doubt, MD was talking about - and also no doubt, most already know about because I am truly suxxor at alts... or are they alts, if they are primaries on different accounts?)... no matter...

Go Devs!

What I need is more *time* to actually play the game... that, unfortunately, I cannot buy... :p
