Of course, ST6 ingame is as rare as hen's teeth, another point in favor of SCAR.

But SoR has some damn good players in and are Alpha as am I.

Guild I Want:
Alpha
Teamwork
Military
Serco

(and Mr_Spuck is more Serco then most of the Sercos that play today :D hes just.... just.... "undercover" :P)

Not to harp on the alpha thing, but I think if that's the top priority for you you may have a hard time finding a suitable guild. Alphas are definately a small minority these days.

Alphas these days are like MENSA: all they do is sit around, talking about how better than anyone else they are. Of course, where they sit is in IRC, so I suggest you go there. And your opinion on spuck doesn't change the fact that he's UIT.

Jex : back ye olde' days, when I was a wee little lad, I remember that one of the MENSA member of a certain nation XXX (not US) was actually Miss XXX/Universe. She was very active in the chapter, and alledgedly wrote a weekly column about self-empowerment in the XXX-chapter MENSA newsletter. The XXX-chapter MENSA gathering was, alledgedly, very well attended for certain reasons.

Alledgedly, because I may or may not have heard it from somebody who may or may not be a member of said chapter of MENSA during those times. When I was a wee little lad.

I get so tired of the nation/alpha/beta stereotypes. I assume those that propagate them are merely trolling and are not so ignorant as to actually subscribe to them.

I'll just say this: I'm pre-alpha, and I find that I must continually re-invent and adapt to stay at all relevant to the game. When I'm grinding up a new character vs. bots, trading a lot, or am faced with a change in game dynamics I have to get out there and get owned by the latest batch of young guns before my skills are honed again. I've been around so long that I have difficulty recalling the current stats and trivia, so I can't even claim an encyclopedic knowledge.

To a few of my alpha peers I would suggest making a character to practice with so that they can later re-emerge using their primary character without losing face due to rusty skills.

Dont think you are gonna get the "teamwork" outta that, I havent seen a serco SoR do any teamwork in ages..... (Sure... relayer is on... but shes doin somethin other than fighting, spellcast does bp almost everytime he gets on, maybe playin with Tosh may get you excitement, I havent seen any others besides spuck). Not trying to diss SoR tho.

Whistler sez : To a few of my alpha peers I would suggest making a character to practice with so that they can later re-emerge using their primary character without losing face due to rusty skills.

Actually, there is no "face" to lose. I mean, why worry if you are alpha and you get pwned by some new player? Unless of course, being "alpha" seems to mean that you have to carry some sort of burden of l337hood. I don't subscribe to that, nor I think anyone should. It's a slippery slope to all these steorotypes that you are trying to debunk.

"there is no "face" to lose"...

Yeah, story of my life. Nice to see some of the older folks coming back...

I was thinking that perhaps some of the stereotypes about long-time players stem from the fact that a few of us seem to prefer to sit noisily on the sidelines, rather than get pwned by some young whipper-snapper upstart. I agree that there is no face to lose, but I was suggesting an option for those who do not agree.

Mar 14, 2006 RelayeR link
Mark, when have you ever heard *me* say how much better I am than anyone? If you have heard alphas do that then *that person* did it...not alphas in general.

I agree with you Whistler... anyone who leaves for more than a few days needs to practice to get the edge back.

I've never said im better then anyone else either. The only thing I mentioned about Alpha was when I was Privatly talking to Yoda about thr weapons and how they changed from what I remember.
