Awesome. As usual, we really really appreciate the updates incarnate. Thanks a bunch.
YARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Yay updated news. Thanks incarnate, you made my weekend a little better.
awesome, next week!
Wont work on the Mini !! Probably something to do with shared video memory (ugh)
Jeeeez Apple are starting to build peecees.

Its because the Mini is designed to fill general market demand cheaply. Or, more simply, to combat the popularity of the PC. The Mac Mini's shared video memory makes it a crappy gaming machine, in fact I doubt it could support VO graphics at all, but it would make an incredable company machine. (This is assuming said company doesn't want to do graphics design, in which case a high end mac is the best bet.)
All the info I've seen seems to indicate that the new mini will run VO at least as well as the old mini. We're just going to have to wait for Apple to address the issue(s).
Which will take.... ^^

I fail to see how the mac mini is designed to combat the PC when, for the price of just the damn mini (around $500) I can buy a comparable PC with all the trimmings (monitor, CD-ROM/DVD player, USB mouse and keyboard, UPS, etc. etc. etc.) Matter of fact, I just recently facfed that decision, and went for the PC.
jex: it's simple. It's a mac, and that's why you should have got it. And when you say comparable, who did you buy the computer from? Dell?
I bought my iMac because I succumbed to Apple's superior marketing gimmickry and the seductive Apple Store sales girl. I'm such a tool.

But It looks like I was right! I predicted 8 releases before a stable client version! Toshiro said 5, because he was optimistic. And As I recall I also predicted that it would be out around March Madness, which may also turn out to be correct.
What do I win?

Aww?
Well, as long as it's not SHOCK and AWE.
It's from "e-machines". Note that it also came (for those same 500 bucks) with the full version of Windoze XP, not the frigging demo known as "Starter Edition" that e-machines likes to use.
I can see how Leebs can fall to marketing, though, since he doesn't seem to use much common sense.

Jex, although I am a dyed-in-the-wool Mac Fanatic, I can understand why you
would not buy the Mac Mini. What I cannot understand is why you would buy an
"e-machine." UGH. I hope that you have no problems, but "you get what you
pay for." This whole PC vs. Mac thing reminds me of the old Beta vs. VHS war.
VHS won because consumers are stupid. We got stuck with an inferior home
video system because VHS was CHEAP, and had a slight advantage in recording time. I have a Sony SL-2000 portable Beta VCR that is 22 years old and still works
perfectly. I also have a Sony SL-HF2100 that is (I think) 14 years old, still works
flawlessly and will (recording live video) produce an image indistinguishable from
NTSC broadcast quality. My son-in-law has my orginal Mac (I THINK it's a IIsi)
from around 1986 that still works fine. There is just nothing that will run on it.
The lesson here is: "Stop Being A Consumer." Go back to being a Customer or
even better, a PATRON. Shop carefully. Do your research. Buy Quality. Don't
automatically buy the cheapest. Please...we are drowning in CRAP!!!
