GTS

I uhh, started working on a .ttf for GTS. all the phoenetics are completed, though I haven't QUITE found a sufficient amount of killable time to begin work on the vocab pictograms.

Find it at the bottom of the page here: http://www.freewebs.com/mobiusm1/vendetta.htm

I mapped the sounds without a latin character to special symbols. Use the charmap or an insert symbol diologue to access them... they're not labeled, so you need to know at least somewhat what you're doing.

Hopefully I'll get to all the pictograms sometime before 2007 =D

There are already two different TrueType Fonts for GTS, and a UTF8 keymap.

Suggestion.... darken the letters, they hurt the eyes, either that or turn them off completely.

Rogue:
I saw 'two' of them previously which actually turned out to be one - the other was a remake of the old client's chat text... and of course the calligraphic one wasn't decipherable. If you have links, feel free to point me =P

Chikira:
lol, it was smaller... >.>
It's nice tho ^^

EDIT: wait, darken what letters? Oo

The scrolling crap in the background, its hurting my eyes man O.O

The font that is a remake of the ingame font does contain the GTS characters, but Sheean made a normal to GTS converter to solve the issue of the phonetics and pictograms, but I can not find a link to it.

When was that trailer made? I've never seen that before.

Only has links to two of the fonts, the VO Chat (which does include the GTS characters, as well as the Latin alphabet), and the calligraphic. I think I've got at least one other one, if I can find it...

@Ghost: Starfisher made the Tribal War video some time back, around April 2005. It's also available enocoded to MPEG rather than Quicktime, which is nice since it's easier for me to play MPEGs than Quicktime movies. http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/1/10139

LOL Chikira... sorry, the background stays (at least until I can find a way to put a static background in there of a good VO screenshot)

Lemming & Beo:
I downloaded it and didn;t see them... guess I'll have to dig deeper.

If you find that link, Lemming, let me know.

PS. I've just added the Short Short version of the VO backstory which I wrote some while ago when I got bored... same page, same place, .rtf.

EDIT: Beo, you think I should include a link to an alternate encoding? (that MPEG is HUGE btw... I'd be happy to try and compress it if someone has webspace to host it on - I'd KILL my monthly bandwidth by the end of the week if I hosted that myself)

I have those fonts that were on the Wiki, and can't use the pictograms; Windows tells me they are "for private use". Any idea on how to solve that?
Feb 26, 2006 roguelazer link
Yes, but it involves the ritualistic burning of your Windows discs.

ugh, yea... I can use them, but only through the charmap - selecting each one... it's unweildly. Mine are mapped directly over the latin alphabet characters, but I still need to find a solution for the pictograms (a place to map them so you can use them with one keystroke) I'm thinking about limiting the phoenetics to the lower case, and the pictograms to the upper.

You can find my old stuff here: http://student.science.uva.nl/~sspoel/Vendetta/

I'm not really working on improving this stuff anymore so if you feel like recycling it feel free to do so. Your font looks good so far!

Also note the keyboard layout, and input-page-thingy that is found there. Using UTF is the way to go though; that is the only way you can have mixed text (GTS with something else, for example English.)
