good thought.. why not put a Donate button up somewhere for some anonymous generous soul. After all this is a project that could use some of that bigtime at the current state of things.

heck, you could probably get this community to do a bunch of stuff for you for free :)

mdaniel: We used to have one up, but I think it was removed shortly before/after release.

Soulless1: While that's true, I think the current issue with that is that programming-wise, anyone helping would need to become acquainted with the code of the game, and I'm not too sure that the devs are about to let that happen just yet.

To any bajillionaires out there that play and enjoy Vendetta Online, the playerbase is requesting you send some of that useless money that will just go to some undeserving relative that has even more than you or to the government we all would hate to see get it, to Guild Software.

A large enough donation (@ $750,000.00) will allow the devs to take one (1, uno, single, 1?, ichi, solitary, ????, lone, un, sole, hitori, a, ein, ????, um) day off, six years after they train the programmers and artists your generous gift will enable them to hire.

If you feel your money would be better used anywhere in this universe, you are sadly mistaken and deserve all your money be taken from you by the government.

This was my idea (stolen from some silly post) and is in no way condoned by Guild Software or their families, friends or pets.

Thank You.

I just made up that number. I'm not sure how much money it would really take. I'm sure we'd all like the devs to earn a reasonable salary (i.e. more than a cashier at McD's) or have money to pay for medical insurance premiums.

What the devs need are players to fill up the playerbase and support the mission and UI bug testing.

When the time comes (SOON I hope) for the new "release" with the new UI and missions implemented then the playerbase can flood the internet with pro-Vendetta propaganda and apply for permission to use the mission editor.

*special request* if your gonna look for donors, or investors. or even a large publisher, please aviod Electronic arts at all costs.. the've already killed Motor city and Earth and Beyond.

Im sure the devs would love a nice long extended break but unfortnately they are working on get vendetta into the mainstream *say a few thousand players online?* and creating all the content, ships and other systems is going to take time especially considering the devs are a group of four doing the jobs of at least tewnty-five people. The devs break can come after vendetta is in that mainstream, or has a siginifcantly better standing than it does today. *BTW in no means do I think the devs shouldn't take a few days off or go out with friends, but anything within the realm of a week or two week leave is really a bad idea, especially considering that Vendetta does need to start making some real ground in six months, *IE player count goals should be between 500 and 1500 users online at one time, and content goals should be equally high in terms of new missions/ an even more interactive tutorial for new players as we constantly have to redirect them on channel 100, not saying this is a problem, but when vendetta makes that break through, I really cant spend time helping a mob of noobs. ^^ you can if you like.

So for the next few months... its programing, modeling, texturing, and testing monday through friday at least. And poor Incarnate ^^ you get to do a bunch of lovely interviews with wacked out anaylist's from IGN or MMORPG.com ^^ have fun buddy. lol

Hehe.

I was across the street from Guild software today at Tushaus computing and I *seriously* thought about bringing over coffee...

But it was 9 AM, surely they were in bed still. Perhaps my next afternoon meeting...

Keep plugging away, gents!

@ Chikara, EA never was an option, and I personally hope it will never be, but if they took an interest in it, I for one would be chuffed, and AFAIK, they already tried.

VO wont ever be windows only, and errm, all EA games ARE, cos they bumlick M$$$$ (sorry for bad termanolgy, but its true!)

Well anyways, when looking for new investors, dont shoot too high, there are some small but bigger than me (or i would invest) co's out there in the uk, europe, and im sure asia that would invest in this kinda stuff... ...the only thing would be giving out servers, once it gets big enough you are gunna have do so, do a rakion, or gunz or whatever, the korean guys aint gunna be pleased at a high ping, so they *would* want there own server, its just the way the MMO world is working...

Hello everyone!

(Luis here, I think they still havenīt found time to make me appear red in this forum)

I would like to add to this discussion that I do have eight ships finished, fully modeled and skinned, more some half dozen in the production pipeline and various sketchs and ideas (I would like to replace all the space station modules in a near future, the Hive bots, all the AI bots, flight interface, and, etc...
by the way, all that space junk Incarnate said in another thread are looking really good, I used parts of the ships Iīm mading to create them, more lots of damage texturing and transparencies.

But you know, just it is not enough, thereīs more work until they can be introduced in the game, and, believe me, I just canīt wait to see it in game, as most of you too.

Another thing, just money isnīt enough to guarantee a game will be a hit, I worked in the recent past in another project (much like this one, same theme, same gameplay...but lots more bugs and lag)

http://www.taikodom.com (for those that understand portuguese, anyway, you can look at the screenshots and, thereīs some 3D ships in the site that are very cool) some of this ships were mine, the others made by some guys I got to them in the time I was there

They spent already something like 2.5 million dollars in a game far inferior to vendetta Online

I think GuildSoftware are on the right track and I expect this new client will make a lot in getting them some more subscribers...

thanks for your attention (sorry for my english, hehehe)

bye

Luis, you rock!! Can't wait to see some of the new objects you're cooking up in game.

I'm sure you've thought of this already but one special request I have is that if you re-do the space station modules to give each nation its own unique set, so you could tell just by looking at it whether it's an Itani, Serco, or UIT station etc. That is if you have the time... I know there are all kinds of cool projects in the works and I cannot wait to see them.
