Odd Hive activity
I really don't know where else to put this so I'm posting it here. Yes, I know that my spelling and grammer is bad. Leave it alone.
Don't ask me how I ended up like this but I was sitting around Sedina G-1, which is empty, chatting to a FNG about something. I hear another engine in the sector with me so I start paying attention instead of chatting. Only to find a Hive observer flying around watching me. I don't shoot it but play around with it and all of a sudden there is a guardian shooting at me from behind.
Now you have to understand that this is after the levi was killed on Sunday night. There shouldn't be anything.
Now this guardian almost kills me and quick, so I take off and jump to another system. After a little bit I jump back there to see if the observer is still there. Nothing. I sit around and start chating again. A queen blows me up. Thats right. A queen jumps in and blows me up. So now I'm confused and very interested.
After playing around with this for a bit, I have had two different guardians and an assault come after me.
Here is the thing. You have to jump in and stop. Stay in the middle of the sector. Yes I know that it is empty but there is a middle. If you get attacked and run, so that you are over 3km away from the bot, it will jump out. I havn't tried this in other sectors yet. I'm guessing that this has something to do with how the devs wanted the Hive AI made and probably not a bug. It's just that I havn't heard about it yet. Kind of interesting if you ask me.

This made my night:) Freakin hilarious! Did a guide do this to him? I thought at first maybe some hack Andy wrote today and didn't mention or commit. There is no way my code did this :) But I just tested it out and no bots warped in. It must have been either a mischievous guide or in some utterly amazing (to me) way, a bug after all.
I'd call it a feature and leave as it is. ;-)
I must confess... It was probably Andy :P
So I've just been punked? Oh god.........
I didn't see Andy logged in so he must have been using an alt or I'm just blind.
Oh well, thanks for the fun Devs. BTW do any of you ever sleep?

Lol, that would have been fun to see
Sneak attack hive? BRILLIANT!!!
The hive has always behaved this way (ever since the addition of the Leviathan).
Individual bots are always jumping in and out of the lev sector, even if the lev is dead. I remember after the first lev I killed, I was crawing out to 3000m with a rag full of samo and a queen jumped into the sector. Luckily, I was far enough out that she didn't persue.
In fact, last night after Onina Tola, Kioal Darkblade, and I killed the Leviathan, an assault snuck up on Onina and killed him while he was picking up cargo.
You can see this behavior, even when the Leviathan is alive, too. Just sit around in the sector long enough and you'll see bots come and go. I've seen this quite a bit while pecking away at the lev after the rest of the bots are dead.

Oh! Yes, in a Stronghold this could happen. Even one which was destroyed and left empty long enough that the sector shut down, leading to a truly empty sector for subsequent players who went there. It has to do with bots being scheduled to be respawned; I guess I don't check if the Hive is still around in that bit of code. No real harm in it though:)
f34r teh ninja bots! :p
I'd rather believe that it was RelayeR "posing" as hive bots, sneaking up on ya, stranger!
I totally want to see guides and players assume the identities of bots, NPC's, whatever, just like Agents in "The Matrix."

Lol sounds like relayer was funking with ya. ^^
Thar's an idea, Leebs!
A remote control beam that lets you take over a Hive bot! Only problem is, you can only control one at once, so yer ship is left floating dead in space, matey.
XD
I kinda like the idea, actually. Give the weapon huge drain, really short range, and make it so that your main ship can't be controlled as long as you're using the Botmobile.
TO THE BOTCAVE!
*a badly-drawn Leviathan zooms in, then out against a swirly background*
