Thanks for the help there he he. But i chose to continue to smoke....Maybe i should not smoke in the cockpit as i am being shot at repeatedly. Gaylic
Oh yea, so far every ship I've been in has not reached its top speed.
Corvus vulturious only goes 74 instead of 75.
Thats the one I remember.
Very, VERY detrimental to Racing......
I'm sure we all know how hard that last .00001th of a second is.

BUG: The cursor sticks to the edge of the screen, except in the corners, where it can still escape totally offscreen.
ctishman: Is that on a mac with multiple monitors?
Mac, single monitor using a VGA connection. MacOS 10.4.4.
caused my mouselook cursor to disappear after jumping into the station, then couldnt move the ship either.
also, leaving a buddy note causes an error.
if you want, i can post what the error logs said.

Lua Error when using b to target. Uncommon but it happens about 1 in 25 targets
Lua error in Windows when leaving a note to a buddy (/buddy note command), though the note does seem to go through; I'll try to catch a screeny next time.

WooHoo!!! I got the beta4 client not to crash upon entering the universe... Now I can fly around, dock, warp, etc. How, you might ask? Simple...
I edited my config.ini file and set the 0/1/2-type flags in the [refgl] section to all 0, then launced the client. After that, I was able to use the config menu to crank up the video settings (all except shaders, which doesn't work for me with the production client either) and no crash yet.
I'm now running stably (for about 30 min, at least) at 1280x854x32bit fullscreen and the fps is better than with the production client, despite having greater detail turned on.
Below the --------- line are the current contents of my [refgl] section in case you feel daring and want to paste it into your config.ini file. Note that I'm running a 1 GHz PowerBook G4 with ATI Radeon 9000 Mobility video (64 MB) and Mac OS X 10.3.9.

It's important that you say what the lua error is so I can fix it, especially if it is an error that happens infrequently.
Okay, here's the Lua error when you send a /buddy note on Windoze:
http://makchuga.itanialliance.com/images/lua_error4.jpg
And here's a message I got when an Artemis collector started bumping agsinst my moth in an attempt to destroy it:
http://makchuga.itanialliance.com/images/entity_error.jpg
Note that where it should say "Artemis blah blah blah" as the source of the attack, it says "unknown entity". IS that like "Unknown player node"?

For me, atleast, the crashing-upon-loading character was narrowed down to dovertexbuffers being set to 1 in my config.ini by default even though my card doesn't support it.
I hope that helps!

Er, are you talking to me, Incarnate?
Ok, I managed to duplicate the mac crash.
It only happened for me on our G4 with 10.3. It did not happen on our G5 with the same video card and 10.4
I think the easiest solution is to disable vertex buffers completely on the mac, but I still want to know why it is happening.
So, if someone has vo3 crash on a G5 please let me know what video card and what OS version.

This happens on occasion, in flight in station doesn' tmatter where. Nor have a clue why.

1) If you turn autoaim off, the targeting reticle still turns yellow when your target is in the firing cone. I liked the old client behavior where it never turned yellow. It was a good reminder that autoaim was off.
2) The Universe Inventory shows engines for some ships (a random selection of my ships, about 30% of them).
3) Can we please have a way to disable the "Press F1 for help" message? Even if it's only an obscure variable that you have to set in the console (or wgaf.cfg). This request has little to do with the fact that it now appears every time you jump. It bugged me in the old client too.
4) Clicking on the text in the chatbox doesn't set the chatbox in focus. You have to click on a tab or on the line where you type. (I had the mission tab active, but I assume the general tab also behaves like this.)
5) When you reach 3000m, you don't get the big text in the middle of the screen telling you to jump. This might happen at wormholes too (don't remember). I had a multi-hop route set, if that matters.
6) The hive bots are listed above the players (Serco anyway), in the sector list. The hive should be listed below all other factions on the list.
